It was a real busy one today. I got there at 7:30 with the idea of catching some of the cars arriving on video. Wrong !. There was already a big queue to get in and was already heaving inside with people.

Some Fantastic cars there today, Must of been around 4 x F40's and as well as McLaren F1, Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari 458, Bugatti Veyrons etc.

I normally have time to go around a couple of times to see the cars that arrive a bit late, but not today. Didn't even have time to stop for food.

Roll on the Festival Of Speed ! smile

What a great day! There was some serious machines down there today! got down there just after 7, managed to spot 0 convoys on the way down? But did get a good car spot tongue out

Out of interest is there any members on here with a dodge viper or ferrari that turned off at Romsey on the way back? There was another ferrari also but i followed you guys all the way (just about), and it was like music to my ears! Both the ferrari's were so loud and the viper made my car shudder as it blew past me a couple of times! Was great!

Any how, great day out though (will post some pics), maybe next time ill spot some members and maybe say hi!

I was stunned McLaren didn't show up with the 12C considering it was 40 yrs this week since Bruce passed away at Goodwood. I would imagine LM would have given them some space to even rival Maserati. wink

Bit of a moan but been going since the first and I'm starting to get wound up by the now increasing commercial sellers that pitch up selling their "tat". Not what this is supposed to be about.

Great day as always

I just wish the guys on the gate had studied their cars a bit more, I had a 500 bhp sports car & had to park in the field, bumped into a friend later in the day next to her Seat 1.9 tdi company car parked on the circuit, not even cleaned !!! Still I guess its free.

Loved the Masseratis, just brought a touch of class after all those Ferraris but again its a personal thing.

was a very good morning. never seen the road so busy leading into goodwood. i only live 5minutes away and took us nearly 30minutes to get in.

though wasnt to sure about the car stands and companies trying to sell their cars. not really what the breakfast club is about in my eyes.

Amazing day and hats off to Goodwood again for putting up their venue for us petrol heads to get out fix with an array of truly outstanding motors...... and lets not forget, all for free beer

A thanks also has to go to all the owners of said exotica for bringing them along to put on display. smile

Really do enjoy the breakfast clubs and yes popularity has grown over the years but it doesn't detract from a great spectacle and I still really look forward to future events
(as said above though, Goodwood, please loose the corporate stands)

There is a bit of a dichotomy here .

phrases such as , 'busiest ever' 'free entry' free parking'

does not sit well with ' please lose the trade stands ' and ' the food is expensive '

As the breakfast club has grown in popularity over the years the cost to the estate to plan, Marshall,
and clear up , must have risen beyond expectation therefore to recoup a little is not beyond reason .

If a cover charge was implemented , how many cries of 'Lord Greedy' would be seen on here ? therefore the estate cannot win .

Let us not forget the Estate is not just Lord March , it is a diverse business employing 100's of local people , not a registered charity .

Not a ranting , more trying to give a balanced view .

I agree... would we have seen a 458 Italia and an R8 V10 had dealers not turned up? I had a long chat with a guy next the R8 who put me under no pressure what so ever to buy one!

Totally agree in general. I'm sure we all appreciate the time and effort that goes in behind the scenes to put on these events and personally I have zero issues with cost of food/frink or dealers etc turning up with cars as they have always done (to which i've had interesting conversations with in the past) but covering large area's with dedicated stands etc..

Its a pretty trivial point in the main so no point in blowing this all out of proportin. We'll just have to see what direction Goodwood chooses to run these events in the future. The format has been great the last few years so fingers crossed the balance between an informal run out and meet on a Sunday morning to a full blown monthly mini FOS is maintained. smile

Talking of which, role on 1st July bounce

Totally Fantastic morning out. Started wonderfully with an early morning blast down the A272 and then through South Harting, with non of the morons that invade those roads after 9am (the trip home was so full of morons in cars and on bikes it is such a chore….why do people drive like such idiots on a Sunday?)

The queue in was the world’s best traffic jam, if "Carlsberg did traffic jams" Saw pretty much every car I would ever want to see just in the queue to get in.

Oh how things have changed from the early years of the Brekkie club, I remember where the gravel section by the cafe was the only display area. Onwards and upwards I say.

It was my sons second brekkie club (he is two on Thursday) and really enjoyed it too.

Supercar Sunday is such a good warmup for Le Mans this week...hurragh...

I suspect that the Supercar morning is by far the busiest each year. Soft top sunday and "pre 1950s" (or whatever) are of no interest to me at all.

that was a brilliant morning- just kept wandering around amazed at the variety and quality of the turnout, was knackered in the end exerting way more calories than my organic cheese burger and diet fizzy. Only realised on leaving the best view point was sitting on the embankment by the tunnel- must have been a brilliant place to sit, watch & listen - visual and aural (oral might have been the complete fantasy) bliss.....well done Goodwood staff, roll on FOS

I think that the definition of SUPERCAR is very loosely intepreted by some "idiots"... I dont think of my 993C4S as a supercar and went straight to park it in the field... So why would a HONDA S2000 think it is? People's vanity knows no end... There was even a RR Phantom (was it - its reg no was RR10 JET) - it might have a SUPER price tag but not a SuperCar...

How many of us heard / seen certain supercar owners revving and wheel-spinning their way on EXIT ? Are these the folks who have rented their supercars for the day... cos real enthusiasts and owners dont tend to do these sorts of childish things...

I wanted to pay the outrageous prices for an organic bacon butty but the massive queues really deterred me permanently...

BUT SuperCar Sunday is generally accepted as a high attendance event, normal service should return soon ...

Get up earlier? I queued for a BB at 8.45, and waited for all of 5 minutes - and I could see the cars arriving in the paddock too. And i didn't tihnk £4-50 for a very tasty bacon+egg butty was bad - at least not compared to the £2-50 latte.

PS Many thanks to the car drivers for pulling over to let me filter through on my bike to the front of the jam from the A27!

As we were leaving the guy in front of me in a Tuscan went for a wheel spin through the tunnel and then when we got to the exit road gave it the beans and fishtailed out on to the main road. A marshall stepped out, stopped him and gave him a bit of a pep talk.

It may be fun, but it's that kind of behaviour that is likely to get events like these banned.
