FOS Thurs - getting there and avoiding the traffic
Discussion
Hi all
Very excited to be going this year for the first time, all 4 days thanks to some very amazing folks
Will be travelling down from Oxfordshire way on Thursday, not (currently) planning to leave at the crack of dawn. All the same, I do want to avoid the worst of the traffic getting in, if that's not too much to hope for
Any suggestions what time to aim to get there to avoid the worst of the traffic? Early or later is fine with me, trying to give myself the best chance for a reasonably chilled start to what's shaping up to be a brilliant weekend.
Thanks in advance

I recall reading that only car park A will be running on the Thursday, whilst I am sure numbers will be far lower than on the other days as a whole, there may well still be a queue to get parked up if everyone is channelled to one parking area. However it's a brand new day for the FOS and a complete unknown, so pretty much going to be a finger in the air for everyone (Goodwood included).
I'm planning on leaving S.Wales at around 4.30 - 5am, to get there at about 7.30ish. Thats my plan anyway. Unless of course I through my alarm !!
I have a ticket for a mate I'm meeting there (he is conveniently working about 2 miles from Goodwood today and staying over tonight.)
Will he need the ticket to actually park or just to get through into the show, ie do we need to meet somewhere before getting to Goodwood ?

Don't need the ticket until the gate which you walk to . Therefore you can park up.I have a ticket for a mate I'm meeting there (he is conveniently working about 2 miles from Goodwood today and staying over tonight.)

Er, not flying but as I'm about an hour and a quarter away for the normal Friday FoS I leave home at around 8am and get in without too much traffic or queueing. Tomorrow will be an unknown quantity but I don't expect it to be too different to a Friday. Exhibitors and stallholders are still getting their act together between nine and ten. Saturday and Sunday are definitely a case for being up with the lark!
