I am bringing my 4 year old lad with me on Friday and we are coming from Stevenage. I am thinking it might be best to leave at 8.30am and miss the worst of the traffic arriving at about 11am.

Am I right in saying there is plenty going on until late, say 5pm on a Friday. If so we will leave late and miss the worst of the traffic again.

(Obviously I make no guarantees here, but....)

Yes,

I did this one year on a Friday and this should work out well for you, 11 is quite a good time to miss the traffic (though as other have said the roads glose to GW can be a nightmare with or without GFoS!)-so long as you dont mind a long walk fron the back of the car parks to the show

And yes, action goes on until late so watch it all then wander and leave late

I tend to get to Goodwood for around 07:30.
No queues and get a good look around, good for photography before the majority get there.

Yes, me to. I always get there early....you get a good view of the cars etc in the pits before the mass crowds arrive! thumbup
I know you have a 4 year old however, I would recomend getting there earlier than 11am as it will be very busy then.
If he is anything like my little'n, he will be up early anyway!!

I have to drag him out of bed all of my kids are useless at getting up, but having just seen the line up I think I would be mad not to get there early. I will leave at 6.30 and with luck be there before 9.

Thanks for the comments and see you there!
