The Mongol Rally kicked off in classic style, it included some right old bangers and ‘risky’ detailing… If any of them make it to Mongolia, I'll be amazed...

The Domino’s Polo… With well secured spare wheels

Ambulances were a popular weapon of choice, here a male nurse playing AC/DC – Highway to Hell, takes down the Union flag before Goodwoods Tunnel does.

One of last years cars – Yes it did go to Mongolia and Back.

Roller looked the part.

Graffiti Van.

‘The Russian Brides’ were aggressively on the hunt for English Husbands. They came fully prepared, with Dress, flowers and Black Teeth…

The quality of the Cars ran from the Terrible..

Through to the Outrageous…

There were quite a few vans too…

This one belonged to the Griswolds

The Kiwis came prepared. (with Sheep).

Some last minute touches…

Plenty of room to sit on the sundeck…

There were horses too…

And one was ridden through Goodwoods Tunnel…

The car it was on, was pretty special too…

The Australians had a blow up skippy to keep them amused…

Whilst the Dutch joined the Krankenwagen Party…

Two ‘Green Goddesses’ about to drive to Mongolia… Rather them than me!

Lovingly detailed in pink, it does go well on this fiat.

The Dominos Polo again…

And finally, familiar livery… but…

Mad as a box of Frogs, the lot of them.

I was down with my cameraman for our team next year. We were stood on the starting grid filming wearing a tight fitting high-viz and blagged a couple of laps with some teams. Great day. Cannot wait until next year, would be in france by now.

Got chatting to one of the competitors at Clackett Lane services on Saturday (just after a Lancaster bomber flew overhead - cool).

Sir, if you're reading this and you still haven't found out how to say "I'm lactose intolerant" in Russian it's "Ya lactosa nyetolyerantnaya" (apparently).
