Any Durban/capetown people that still surf and live in london?

Plenty good waves here, i got no car though to get there and trains too expensive.

Give us a shout

Im an ex Safa, left in '96 but go back regullaly for holidays, and also got married to my British wife in the Drakensburg last year.

Due to go again in a couple weeks, cant wait!!

Im from Durban/Hillcrest area and every time I go back I feel like I could live there again, really nice, only problem is there's always that risk.

So whens that braai happening?

What region/area are you in at the moment? (Why not update your PH profile!)

Hi, just noticed this forum.

Originally from Cape Town, came to the UK in 2003, based in Cambridge at the moment.

Bought a TVR Tuscan in April! biggrin

I lived in Gonubie for a couple of years, around 1989 - 1991.

16th Ave.

I found my old house on Google Streetview recently - it looks quite different now!

Your surname rings a vague bell with me - although I used to fix TV's back in those days so that could be why.

Hi Mate!

Yeah, my brother (Alan) and I were there around that time too. Hart Street, yes, the houses have changed a lot. The Hotel has also altered vastly too.

Where you located (ish) now then?

All the best

Yes - Alan rings a bell too.

I live in Leeds now (on the outskirts).

You weren't kidding - you really can pick 'em! smile

I lived in Sandton (Buccleuch) and worked in Vereeneging, Van Der Bijl Park and latterly Pretoria, so I got around a bit.

As a TV repair man, I also saw a lot more of various suburbs (sometimes the "wrong" kind of suburbs too lol).

Oh yeah, Vereeniging and Van der bijl park, I'm familiar with those too. I must be honest, there weren't many souties around those areas...

I worked in Midrand for a long time as a software engineer, a lot of our customers were in Sandton - and joburg so I got quite familiar with the business areas in the northern suburbs. Got my wheels stolen off my car (the second time) while staying in Parkview smile

Not all of our customers were in such slums though. Through work I also got to stay in the bustling metropolises that are Hotazel, Kimberley, Phalaborwa, and some big hole in the ground about halfway between Kitwe and Ndola.
