8 miles and no shower! :-0 I cover the same distance on my commute and couldn't even think about riding such a distance without showering afterwards.
I'm currently doing 12 miles in to work each day and not showering when I get here (despite having the option available). I'm very lucky in that I'm not a sweaty person; By wearing the right number of layers to avoid getting hot and not cycling too hard I just don't work up a sweat. That'll change as the weather gets warmer, but it's fine at the moment.

I drive in once a week with ironed shirts, clean undies and socks. I leave suits, wash bag, belt, shoes etc etc permanently in the office. We have a shower however if one's not available I hear wetwipes are very good.
^^^ This is exactly what I do. The shower is in next to the urinals, but there's a tiny locker each there for me and the four other blokes who do this. On the Friday, I just chuck all of the used shirts / towels / phys kit / pants into a day sack and cycle home with it.

Hmm, did we mention that we are glad you're leaving?I'm very lucky in that I'm not a sweaty person; By wearing the right number of layers to avoid getting hot and not cycling too hard I just don't work up a sweat. That'll change as the weather gets warmer, but it's fine at the moment.

The difference there though is that you're a techie. This means you are measured against a different baseline to the rest of the office!
