Has anyone got any recommendations for any organisers they have been with? I fancy doing something active for hols this year, probably in September, but really want "a put brain in neutral and just cycle" type of thing, not having to worry about luggage, accommodation, food etc. In a masochistic way, I am pulled by the idea of the Pyrenees . . .

Haven't done one, so can't make recommendations, but if I had the cash to spare, I'd love to sign up to one of these: http://www.rapha.cc/rapha-randonnees/ Not cheap, but I gather you're very well taken care of.

Their Pyrenees trip is set for the 2nd half of September too.

no experience myself of any particular companies but there are loads of adverts in the back of cycling weekly for guided trips, just give a few a call. most are ex-pats or family run businesses and can tailor to suit

Hi,

Not used one of the organised tour type holiday companies but what could be easier than looking on the Sustrans website and choosing one of their many routes in the UK (prefer Scotland myself) get you and your bike on the train and cycle at your own pace, personally I camp but b&b at the end of each day is easy enough,

If you are up for something completely different, I did this just over a year ago...

Not the major climbs you might be after, but definitely a trip I won't forget
