Afternoon all,

I have Shimano 105 brakes which are (I'm pretty certain) on a 2001 model bike. I'm in need of new pads, but Wiggle and the like don't seem to have such a thing.

Does anyone happen to know what pads I need?

Are you even reading the first post? He wants them for 2001 brakes which don't have padholders like the later models, and are a different shape

How are you defining ste?

The worn Shimano ones I've got in there are still good enough to lock up both wheels at 20+ mph should white van man choose to pull across in front of me without looking. Is there another area of performance when it comes to road brakes?

Do a search on google for Shimano BR1050, assuming those are the ones you need. There are a couple of places selling 5 packs of the pads

Alternatively, time for an upgrade

I await the whoosh parrot, but why would you want a pack of 5 brake pads?

Because that appears to be all that's available for sale these days, unless you can find a shop that sells as individual pairs. Good luck with that

ETA or do you mean 5 pads? They are sold as 5 pairs if thats what you mean

Good news! I can now guarantee that it's not going to rain in London for at least 3 months from probably tomorrow! smile

The reason for this is, having discovered that my 105s actually are pad in shoe models, and following now three evening commutes in a row with pissing rain and no braking power, I have ordered some Koolstop Salmons off Wiggle.

Sods' Law therefore dictates that there will be no rain in the near future for me to test them with! hehe
