Hi,

In August this year I'm riding John O'Groats to Lands End, which means about 1000 miles into a headwind, over 9 days. My route takes me over the Severn Road Bridge, however its just dawned on me that cyclists may not be allowed over this bridge, anyone been over it on a bike?

All the effort is for a worthy cause...

Hi Ribbs,

Can't advice on the bridge but good luck with the ride. Any training tips would be much appreciated on my LEJOG thread.

Hi,

Cyclists can cross the smaller, northerly bridge as it has footpaths along the side.

Check my website for any tips and advice from when I did it 3 years ago! Good luck!

Just back from this myself a few weeks ago, you can cross the "original" Severn Bridge, just not the new one, watch out as the sign posts are rubbish (I almost rode onto the M5!!!) you have to cycle along an industrial area to get there.

good luck!!!! its an amazing experience
