I have a 1983 531 road bike running Campag 6 speed screw on freewheel. Does anyone know if I can fit a 7 speed freewheel to the original hub and would the chain width stay the same ?
You cant just change the freewheel, the hub axle will be too short so you need to change this and get the right spacers and also get the wheel re dished to ensure the rim is central in the frame.
