I've been cycling on and off in the past year, on a hand me down MTN bike...and been thinking of upgrading to something a bit better.

After reading many posts on here, and other bike forums, I've decided to look at second hand bikes, so that I can get something a bit better for my budget circa £400. I could go up from there, but unless I'm spending £600 plus new, the Rockhopper seems like a good buy.

I have spotted a Specialized Rockhopper Disc 2009, in what looks like perfect condition...and just wanted a bit of a heads up of what you think it's worth. It's original spec with Rockshox Dart 3, Deore etc.

Thanks..

The funny thing is, I spotted your ad on the weekend, and have looked it at a few times. But I read up about those Gila Pros... wink

£325-£350 but if it truly is perfect, with very little wear to chain, tyres, cassette etc., nearer to £400.

Are Dart 3's any better? It looks like a lovely bike to be honest, had I not just got mine I would have been very interested!

Have a look on singletrack and bikeradar, on the forums they have for sale ads.

You can get one hell of a spec bike for that imo.

I sold a freshly built on-one scandal with full deore spec and rockshox sid forks for £420.

Put a wanted ad up on them and say what you want (hardtail etc) and budget and see what comes up.

Awesome for the money and recons are simply a million times better than darts.

To answer the above question, rockshox dart 3 are totally crap. Had them on my bike until they broke then upgraded to Reba's, what a difference. I was getting really sore hands on the trails and it was due to the stiffness of the dart fork it isn't unlike riding fully rigid!
