It's the start of something beautiful, embrace it you already know he is happy to be bottom for not manning up to his wife on the real bike price.

You will know which bike is which after one ride out if you get him to bite down hard on the bar tape wink

Enjoy...

A few years ago I remember 2 of my mates having the same bike and accesories and we used to take the mick... but we were 15!

I wouldn't be bothered now! In fact, I was trying to get my little cousin who I ride with to buy the other 2010 model Boardman that Halfords had but they had sold it frown

The OP has made my morning. You have got to love the internet.
Glad to be of service smile

I don't mind him buying a new bike at all, infact i like the idea so we can go to Dalby etc etc and escape the OH's but the fact he stressed he did not want one the same or even same make as mine grinds a bit, but more so does the fact he went and got the extra bits i was going to buy for mine!
He had a few bikes in mind and did not look at any of them! He went to the shop i got mine, bought the exact same bike with the extra bits i was about to get myself (he knew what these were). so he never bothered looking at ANY of the other bikes or even going for advice at different shops, he decided it would be a grand idea to copy me, buy the bits i want to go on mine (i now can't get these or we will look even worse) and then back pedal when i asked him 'why the flying feck have you got the same as me with the bits i was going to get for mine'

I would not be as bothered about him getting the same bike but to get the extra bits i had been talking about getting just comes accross as being a right dick! He knows he has fked up and think he may regret it as he is getting a fair bit of stick about it but still i don't want to go out together on them, not sure if its my way of pissing him off by him not having anyone to go out on his new bike with or what........
