I think the whole team should be up for awards and promoted to high heaven to gets kids looking up and aspiring to them.

Not often do you see their level of commitment to each other for TEAM work... watching the strategy and the "HTC Train" pulling away each time was a joy - proper sport!!

OF course, the whole team was working for ONE man... but you absolutely can not deny the sacrifice they make on a daily basis and his overarching respect for his team mates for doing so... not once do you hear him talking himself up... or at least not before he's made damn sure the whole team are acknowledged for getting him there.

I just went out and bought this seasons HTC cycling jersey as soon as I heard the news - there are none available online in large and I got the last one at Evans in the city.

When the itv commentator said during the tdf that HTC were struggling to find a sponsor next year I thought i must of misheard him!

I can't believe a team as high profile, and near to the front of the peleton as HTC can't find a sponsor to ride next year. You'd think with their lead out train that the amount of exposure that sponsors would get, they would be queuing up to get their names on Cavs back.

Despite Cav being a plastic Brit - well he comes from some small island and sounds like a scouser - so cant be real smile - I must admit that Sky and HTC got almost all of teh high profile coverage.

I happen to know one of teh high profile decision makers at Sky and I can tell you that they are very pleased with teh exposure that they and British cycling are getting. Enormously happy - but want more obviously!

Sky seem to come across (ignoring NI stuff) as a very young, dynamic and aggressive company prepared to do stuff. HTC seem to fit that mould.

The HTC train must be one of the over whelming corporate images of teh TdF this year. Must be.

MASSIVE exposure - and a true ground breaking system - with high profile - a 100% team effort - a 95% perfect result and total brand awareness.

Shows what can be done in cycling - shame it still is such a niche sport eh?

The 10 O'Clock news never shows the 15 mins at the end with HTC everywhere on the sprints - it never shows the 100km where the HTC team chase down breakaway groups as a team in order to get the cherry. If you even just watched the highlights - they were the stand out 'team'.

and they were 'HTC' (Highroad)

rumour mill has it that Renshaw will be off to join the new aussie team, damn shame if it splits up this great leadout combo, Eissel looks likely to come over to SKY though.
I think it is feasible to look at both green and yellow, albeit a stretch in a nine man squad, but the climbers don't generally need as many men to support them as the sprinters, a 5/3 split with a decent domestique and 2/3 of the guys being capable of both could work but it'd require incredible orginisation, dedication (that one is a given with these guys) and above all else injury/crash free.

Good piece on inrng.com about whether Highroad ever really did have a proper sponsor.

It's generally a great blog for all things cycling.
