Who is using this app?

Its awesome I think and really brings out the competitive person in you!

I had it on for my route to work today and there is only 1 recognised section which is Castlenau, I was not gunning it and got stuck behind a bus but I can now see that I'm 25th out of 52 people and its going to be fun trying to get to the top of that list even though the person at the fron averaged 27 mph for the 0.6 mile stretch to my 21 today!

You mean you drafted a bus along whole the bus lane and still only managed 21mph average! Pah you need to try harder!
biggrin

If you know Castlenau its a lovley stretch (going in) as its all buslane, and if there was only one stop at either end you could draft like a demon, sadly there are about 5 bus stops in the space of half a mile. Stupid.

I looked at this back when there was the hoohah about the guy dying whilst using it. There was nothing in my area then, but now it's full of activity. Going on android market now!

Been using it for a little while and it's rather good fun, although a little frustrating in town when you can never seem to get the clean run through all the lights/traffic/etc that you really need!

If anyone fancies giving it a try I've set up a PistonHeads club here: http://app.strava.com/clubs/2080

I know Castlenau very well and used to be on that bus every morning on the way to school, I was only pulling your very grazed leg. wink

The main problem is there are about six bus routes using the 5 stops and if you come up behind a Bus at a stop you have no where to go other than the pavement as it is back to back traffic in the normal lane, the other side of the road should provide a good comparison on the way home though as it is generally free flowing as I recall.

I'm going to absoloutley smash it to bits later, doing 27 mph for half a mile is fine, but its a busy road sadly! (and going the otherway there is no bus lane)

I use Strava to upload my Garmin data to as it has a better user interface than Garmin Connect. Feature-wise the segments/KOM stuff is a novelty that I don't pay much attention to. I certainly don't go out specifically aiming to improve my Strava rankings. Suffer score is mildly interesting.

Tbh though guys, its more fun when you're out in the hills, I only had it on for the first 30 miles of my ride the other day (as I thought it had ost signal and turned it off) and on the Cat4 climb we did first I was amongst a long list of people.

Shame that I turned it off as on Sunday I did a lot of the climbs around Surrey and would be nice to see how I fare against others.
