Has anyone had this issue with it?
I do a session on my turbo trainer recording it on my Garmin 800. Activity is recorded with all the data visible on the 800. Upload it to strava and it does its thing but once complete it only records a tiny distance (usually 0.3 miles). Delete that and try again no joy. Delete that and try and manually upload the file, same result.
Upload it to Garmin connect and hey presto there's the full ride with all the data. So, what next? Try the trick you can do to download a .tcx file from Garmin connect and then upload it to strava but once I do that the ride just appears again as this weird 0.3 mile thing. Bloody annoying. I've also tried the "copymysports" (a thing that will automatically upload stuff from Garmin Connect to strava) route but in the time I had I couldn't get it to work.
All this is via my mac which is fairly new but was being a pain with dropping wireless connection recently but seemed fine when doing this. I need to try another machine. This all started happening on Tuesday, I did a big session on the turbo on Saturday and then a proper ride on Sunday. Both of those appeared no problem. Not done a proper ride yet since it happened to check it to see if its just some weird thing to do with it being a turbo trainer issue.
Have logged it with strava who were very helpful previously but nothing back from them yet.

Set ride type as turbo session. Strava is looking at the gps track, not the garmin speed sensor data.
Setting it to turbo does away with this.
Can you do that on the garmin before doing the session? It certainly makes sense as a plan, just never had to do it before as it takes all the speed and distance data from the GSC10. As simple as just turning satellite reception off?Setting it to turbo does away with this.
I always set turbo sessions to "stationary trainer" on strava but you can only do that after its uploaded and in this case screwed itself up.

Pretty sure strava does not 'count' speed or distance on a turbo, only hours, watts, heart rate etc - which makes total sense when you think about it; miles and speed on the turbo are largely meaningless. I do ensure sats are off on the turbo to avoid the meaningless positional jitter however.I always set turbo sessions to "stationary trainer" on strava but you can only do that after its uploaded and in this case screwed itself up.
Meaningless as you could set it to minimum resistance and fly along at 40mph, recording lots of miles, whereas someone else could set it to '10', and plug along at walking pace, both doing the same effort.
The only place where the speed is relevant really is that if you leave the turbo on the same resistance, then speed is a reasonable proxy for power (30kph will be the same power day in day out)
ETA, Yeah, I'm in. Fondo shouldn't be a prob, not sure about the classics mileage.

Dunno why any of you bother with challeneges, all the promises of emails to shirts and this that and the other are al total bks, not once have I been emailed about any of the challenges I have completed, not had a chance to purchase anything I was promised, total waste of time.
Because they are a motivational challenge, I don't do them for the over-priced jerseys (but I have always received the emails)

This. Wouldn't brand myself with their stuff unless they were paying me, let alone at the prices they charge (not particular to strava, that's a general thing), but it's a bit of fun, and helps me get out the door some mornings, or to add that extra few miles in to make the 160k for the last fondo badge for instance. YMMV.upsidedownmark said:

Mine does. I do a lot of turbo sessions, and it always adds it to my monthly challenge totals. I don't flag them as stationary trainer rides. I've always received an email when I've completed a challenge. Albeit I haven't completed many. broster said:

If I upgrade to premiuum and use a Garmin HRM strap, how does this interact with my Garmin 200 and show my "suffer score"?...
Plug the garmin into your computer and go to the strava main page, there is an upload button in the top right click that, job doneSteve vRS said:
Taking half a day tomorrow so I can get 70kms in and achieve 1000kilos in March. Do I need help?

No leave for me, but did a brutally hard 150k group ride on saturday, yet still dragged my sore a**e and aching legs for a gentle 80k sunday, just to tip it over the 1000k Steve
