Woohoo, bagged my first ever KOM biggrin

Admittedly, only 3 other people have ridden it and it's no mountain. But it is a 5 mile segment on the windy fens.
Link?

So that I can go and target it give you some Kudos wink

What is the veloviewer score meant to actually show ? Or is it just a random meaningless number?
It is the average segment position score from your top 25% (max 100) of non-downhill segment.

More detail:

Position score - Each of your completed segments comes with a score, between 0 and 100, that represents your relative position based on the number of other athletes that have also ridden the segment. The higher the score the better!

Why not use placing? - Being 1st of 2 athletes isn't the same value as being 1st of 1,000. Equally being last of 2 athletes isn't anywhere near as bad as last of 1,000. The position score reflects how you stack up against others much better than your actual placing.

25% - Only your top 25% of scores (to a maximum of 100) are taken into consideration as I'm guessing you haven't visited the pain cave for the majority of your segments so we only want to include those where you have.

But we've got local pro's taking the top spots - Seeing as the score isn't based on actual positions then this should well balance out as if the area is good enough for lots of pro's to ride there, chances are there are a lot more non-pro riders too so giving the potential for higher relative scores.

But I'm an awesome downhiller! - I feel your pain but to comply with STRAVA API usage rules, flat or uphill only.

thumbup A five mile segment is pretty good going, regardless of how many people have ridden it. Well done thumbup

A quick heads up for those that use Suunto GPS equipment. You can now link your Movescount account direct to your Strava account so your rides/runs will automatically be transferred over. No more exporting smile

Quick question.
I'm heading to the US over the summer and want to record some rides/runs over there on Strava using my Android phone.
Presumably I can just turn data off, record the rides on GPS, then upload if/when I have wifi access or when I get back to the UK?
Has anyone used Strava overseas recently?

Think it needs data to work tbh. Google maps etc doesn't work with no data signal

Why not try it over here? Just switch off your data here...

Might be worth a trial run to make sure you can stack un-uploaded runs on your phone until you get network access. It would be annoying if it kept overwriting your stored rides with the latest! I see no reason why it should do that, but better to be sure.

If you download the csv of your rides, and exclude those with a gradient of less than -0.2%, the scores is the arithmetic mean of your top 100 segments.

See if Wahoo Fitness App works on your phone. I regular off Data to conserve battery as I run a HR and Cadence/Speed Bluetooth at the same time. The App works fine and also lists out all your runs which you can then upload individually (to Strava and virtually every other variant).

I'm kind of surprised some weren't automatically generated on some of those hills...

is there a way of finding out who created a certain segment?
