Anyone recently used Strava in the USA (or abroad in general?)
Used it fine with data roaming turned off last week, but this week it doesn't seem to be accurate at all.
Wayward GPS tracks + not uploading properly using Wifi.
I'm doing the same routes as last week, which worked fine.
I'm working over in Philadelphia for a couple of weeks (travel over this Sunday) so hope I have sorted everything to use my Garmin/Strava whilst over there.Used it fine with data roaming turned off last week, but this week it doesn't seem to be accurate at all.

Bike hire sorted :tick:
Maps of the area downloaded to my Garmin :tick:
Just need to remember to pack all my cycling gear (including Garmin mount)
Looking forward to my adventures in PA next week

I've recently seen the Shimano Summer and BBC Radio 6 challenges via other people who have joined them but they don't seem to appear under the Strava Challenges page...
Would be handy if there was a page detailing all of these!

Does anyone know a way to download a gpx file of another users route?
I've been looking at activities around where I'll be staying in Philadelphia for inspiration, but as I'm not a premium user can't download.
I know there was an app doing the rounds a while ago, but it's been removed since.
Cheers

I think this should help if you don't fancy paying for Strava premium! http://strava-tools.raceshape.com/vpu/
So, tonight I decided to update my veloviewer page with my recent rides as I had not updated my profile for the best part of a month. After the sync had completed I noticed the button 'show my flagged segments' - not noticed it before so I thought I would take a look and was quite surprised to find that 122 segments have been flagged! These included the majority of segments in various trail centers, Whitedown Lane, Streatley Hill, a number of well known climbs in the Chilterns, and loads of other segments that looked fairly harmless to me.....
WTF do people do this? It stands to reason that segments in trail centers are going to contain some form of 'hazard' (probably more so if you are the sort of tt that feels the need to flag them as hazardous), Streatley - Whitedown, really? Probably hazardous if you suffer from heart problems but the simple answer is not to ride them! I suffer from a compressed lower spine so I no longer run or do high impact sports - I have not lobbied the government to outlaw them though! Maybe I should write to Strava and ask them to remove the 'run' section of their website in case one day I have a total brain-fart and decide to go for a jog because of one of their challenges, then can't walk the following morning because my back is playing up.......
I can understand the odd vigil anti flagging fast segments past schools as hazardous, or segments that encourage knuckle-daggers to jump red-lights at cross-roads, but segments in trail centers and climbs that feature in the UK's top 100!?!?!?
Simple resolution should be to remove the 'flag as hazardous' button, and force anyone who wants to use Strava to sign an on-line acknowledgement stating that if you are stupid enough to ride beyond your capabilities or road conditions in pursuit of a virtual sticker for your virtual trophy cabinet and you crash/die/injure someone else, then not only are you a total dick-head, but you are also solely liable for your own stupid actions, and acknowledge that you cannot hold Strava or anyone else liable for your own lack of intelligence......
I wish the entire nanny state/liability culture would 'do-one', let Darwin and his natural selection theory get on with it..........how we developed a culture where we go out of our way to protect idiots is beyond me........
