Very much agreed with the above - amazing what he's done, but it's kindof a curio. Veloviewer score, and the mileage accumulation graph being the main things, so also out. Final VV score, 97.55 smile

Why not just open up an ad slot or two, seems much more simple and less divisive...

Already the case to be honest, £4/month for premium features. They bought up the useful features of raceshape and only provide in the premium version of Strava. Currently doing the month free trail, won't be continuing though as I rarely look at the premium stuff.

Not that many people pay though, they are a prime example of someone who should just start taking ads, the amount of traffic they must get to the website and their apps, they'd make a lot of money if they did it right.

Kudos/followers on Strava...

Looking at a recent ride, 8 people have given me Kudos on it. Three are PHers, one has no clubs listed on his profile, but is from London.

The other four are a varied international bunch...

One from Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil.
One from Köln (Cologne), Germany.
One from Ad Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
One from Hong Kong. He served in the same Corps as me in the army and found me through our 'old boys' cycling club, but I don't actually know him.

It got me to wondering. What is the most obscure/most distant location you...
a) have a follower in/from?
b) have had 'kudos' or a comment from?

All these far flung Strava types have been quite recent. I'm not sure how they found me exactly, but I suspect it's through clubs, etc. Although I don't usually appear high on any leaderboards, so not sure why I've been 'selected', as it were. It's nice, in a way, because it makes me feel like part of a truly international 'cycling culture', but in a small way it underlines just how invasive the internet can be.

I sometimes get Kudos from some guy near Farnham. That's pretty much a different planet in my experience. biggrin

It has got a bit silly, I just accept new followers, and I think I now have 320 or something, and I do seem to get lots of odd kudos - some Eastern European chap gives me kudos on EVERY ride basically, I have no idea who he is.

There is also a guy from America and china that do the same here and there, all quite strange. I've unfollowed quiote a lot of people as the feed is so clogged with those st challenges that I was missing stuff from people who I like to keep tabs on wink

Some Brazilian neo-pro following me, I'm fairly certain he went through Laurens Ten Dam's follower list and started following people in the hope of reciprocation.

Final score of 96.92 here. I might come back to it, but I'm not sure. I would have been happy with a few adverts...

Ouch. Veloviewer to go 'out of bounds'? My VV Score started at a measly 50.23 back in April this year, when I'd been off the bike since the February. It's been climbing steadily since then, reaching a peak of 68.65 earlier this week. I've no idea what it really meant, but I assume that a greater number week on week meant some kind of improvement? And since I have no intention of paying for it, I guess I'll never know where I might have got to now. Oh well. Another one bites the dust... frown

Just read the email about Veloviewer and them charging in future.
Not really sure whether or not it's worth paying for so I reckon I'll be leaving it from here on in.
I had a final VeloViewer score of 98.79 so pretty happy with that!

What does VeloViewer actually do to make it worth paying for? Also i'm still struggling to understand what the hell the VeloViewer score actually means, looks like a load of tosh to me

Agreed. Kind of cool for looking at the odd tour climb. Pretty st for looking at a 300 yard climb in Sussex.

Strava art, anyone...?

http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/news/latest-news/fi...

Some will have been seen before, but maybe not here on PH.

Anyone attempted, or been tempted to have a go at a Strava 'picture'? Or can you link to any art you've seen on your 'dashboard' feed?
