An Observation:
One thing that Strava has highlighted to me is that people without wives and children have the time to do a lot of riding and/or running.
Don't get too bogged down in excuses as to why you don't ride more...One thing that Strava has highlighted to me is that people without wives and children have the time to do a lot of riding and/or running.
I know plenty of guys who manage to get a decent amount of miles in with kids.
I get loads of miles in and have plenty of family time. We don't all work 9-5 in an office. I run or ride during the day when my kids are at school.

Weird isn't it, how everyone's best rides are never recorded on strava.
It's true though! My longest ride / highest totsl elev - garmin went flat so recorded as two rides. Manchester-blackpool-manchester still shiwn as furhtest, bpdespite being 15 miles short. Highest beaten by 50%, shows as second highest.
My pb in the club 10 tt - didn't record as a segment at all in strava.
Imo, it's part of the fun / motivation. I need to go further quicker to be on 1 battery. I need a new pb until the strava gods decide that jc/9 is a segment. I need to be better at hills until i can beat that wker accountant Derek on his Pinarelo. Strava is great at motivation - like god it just moves in mysterious ways...

Anyone not seeing 2015 KOMs today? Best ride of the year by far and not a badge to be seen. I beat Tuesdays ride by a good ten minutes
Aren't 2015 KOMs a bit of a joke? I got three yesterday cruising around chatting to my mate, it was about 2,000th place on the all time placings. Silver940 said:
If the trophies don't show I usually find making the ride private and then public again makes them show up
That did the trick I know 2015 are a bit meaningless but it's handy when you're resuming from a layoff. I'm only interested in besting my own segment times this year at the mo

For most road segments around Cheshire, as a mostly solo commuter on a cx bike, I've no chance of getting within megaphone-shouting distance of the times achieved by monstrous chain gangs with tail-winds. Off-road I'm a bit closer to the top.I know 2015 are a bit meaningless but it's handy when you're resuming from a layoff. I'm only interested in besting my own segment times this year at the mo

Is there any way to compare YTD mileage with previous years? I know I could pay for Veloviewer (I do like the graph style they use) but I don't use any of the other data and I'm sure I'd seen something similar (not in graph form) on Strava in the past.
