I agree extremely annoying. Why would Chrome be so wkerish to do this?
They stopped supporting plug ins as they are a potential security risk. I remain annoyed.

Ooh, they've added "Go to Flybys" on the web app. Nice smile
Bloody love a good Flyby. Found out I was unwittingly chasing my mate round Richmond Park this evening. So geeky, but great fun.

I'm getting a bit fed up by Strava not playing nicely with the Health App on iOS, only some rides are syncing across and noce for the last month.

Guys, I've got a garmin edge 800. Is there an easier way to upload rides to strava from it without having to fire up my P O S laptop and plugging it in to the laptop. I've got an android tablet which I mainly use and an otg usb cable for it, but would I need to install some more firmware or something to my tablet first? Thanks in advance.

I think you can bluetooth to your smartphone then connect to Strava that way.

Yeah sadly mine doesn't have Bluetooth but the edge 810 does, I did think about upgrading to that one just for that reason but not sure if it's worth the extra outlay.

Annoyed that the Garmin communicator plug in no longer works with Chrome. Might have to sort out Bluetooth and the 'phone / Garmin connect method at this rate.
Just simply click 'upload from file' and then navigate to the Garmin/activities folder in the Garmin and you'll see your latest activity to upload.
I have been doing that, not quite as slick as before hence my annoyance.
It seems much quicker tho

So to clarify, this is why my Garmin no longer directly uploads my activities to Strava like it used to? I used to just plug the Garmin into the USB port on my PC, then, by the time the (interminably slow) computer finally woke up, and I opened Chrome, the ride would already be showing in my Strava feed.

Lately I've been having to use the upload button in the top corner, and choose the latest activity file from the folder in the Garmin. I had presumed that it was something I had done that was preventing the "sync" feature from working, as I'd not read anything about the facility being withdrawn.

Does this mean that I'm not alone in having this (very minor) issue? I'd rather not waste time and effort looking for a solution to the "sync" issue if there isn't one to find.

I never had sync set up as you describe, sounds much better.

The issue I am describing is it automatically connecting to the Garmin via the upload button instead of selecting the file by hand. As above selecting the file by hand is much quicker, but speed is not usually an issue when I am sitting recovering from a ride.

Mine still works the way you describe, I plug the device in to PC and a few seconds later it has synced to Strava. Nothing has changed in the way it works that I have noticed

Flyby - doesn't work on the link on Strava, never has, and now when going direct to the site it also doesn't work. Thus the whole system is kaput.

New to strava - is there a way I can use the app to monitor my indoor spin class? All I'm after is a recording of my heart rate (via my BT HRM) over the duration of the class - average, max, etc ..............if not, what app will do that?

When I plug my garmin in, it syncs with garmin connect, which is linked to Strava. Try that route?

I'm being a bit of a doofus here, but that was what I'd set up, and was working well enough until April 8th. Now, despite saying that my Edge 500 is 'connected', it's not automatically uploading anything since then. Yet when I 'manually' upload from an activity file, all the data, etc, is OK.

I cannot seem to find the menu where I can set up the auto-sync feature again. It's not a massive hardship, just 'mildly irritating' on life's scale of things to get worked into a lather over. I'll have another look tonight, as I was pretty tired last night when I looked at it, so there may be something blindingly obvious that I've missed... rolleyes

I think it's a Chrome issue rather than a settings issue Yellowjack.

I'm also a Chrome user and the auto sync thingy no longer works for me. I do the same as you though and just go in and upload manually from the history file on the device.

Agreed. Same issue here.
