Do you have smart recording on your Garmin? If so almost certainly not accurate.

I'd also question your sanity if you did actually get to 63 mph, but it's not likely given even in the pro tour they rarely get to that speed down massively long and closed road downhills.
Ride a Fireblade daily and 60mph seems like nothing. :-)

Smart recording, no idea, how do I check?

P.s. I supposed Berins is also a glitch, I ride that regularly so plenty of traces. For record No brake touching today purely spinning out to a tuck on tri bars, do they have those on tours? Berins I'm braking hard into the last but one bend. From feeling Streatly was much faster today.

I'll get a speed sensor on for future.

Cheers :-) I was on the tri bars fast as I could manage and stayed on them as late as I dared to the bend when I shifted to the hoods, I think the reason I got such a good time was entering the segment fast chasing my mate. I 'd say faster is possible still keeping on the correct side of the road if you had no cars slowing for the lights at the bottom.

Now I have to have another crack at Berins Hill, I have joint 3rd down it, (no 2nd place) but tri bars make hell of a difference so I think it could be bettered.

Have a look at Britwell Hill, Howe Road and Hill Road down to Watlington - all are fast descents and all have their own 'hazards', Britwell is narrow and a bit bumpy in the middle, Howe is a bit twisty with a few potholes just where you don't want them, and Hill Lane is nice and wide but has a bend just when you have really built the speed up. I had the KOM on Howe Hill for a while but am sat at 2nd now, given how much quicker you are on Streatley than me you should easily be able to steal it from the current KOM holder!!

I think its in the data recording section? Might be right, just looks a bit weird, not your fault obviously biggrin

Strava experts, what do you make of this - today I went on a ride, got a few KOM's, one of them being this https://www.strava.com/segments/714722 yet I don't appear in the leaderboard at all? But when you click on today you can see my time, and I can see it in my results, but I don't appear at the top of the segment? Any ideas, seems a bit weird, its happened on two or three of the other KOM's on the same ride too? Have I been flagged?

OKGO, you were so fast, they presumed you used a Veyron.

I had this last week. Make the ride private, save it, then make it public, save it and it will appear. No idea why it does this but it has happened to me a couple of times - I assumed the rides had been flagged but the Strava support guys said it is some sort of intermittent glich!

Just checked and you are right is on smart, now changed to 1 sec.

Friend clocked 68kph down and I caught him from quite far back and flew past him as if he was stood still so I think the speed is more or less valid, fastest I've gone. Tri bars went on the bike last Wednesday and I have been revelling in how fast you can go with them

@ Maddad - Good man, that appears to have fixed it!

@ Herman, it can be a bit weird with smart, it can also be a bit odd anyway, but usually less so with 1 second smile

Not an expert, but I've seen more and more of this lately. Not just on my rides, and not just for KOMs. I keep an eye on a couple of the faster lads who I'm "following" on Strava, just to try to work out how they put in their times, to see if there's anything I can do to improve, and I frequently see a leaderboard without their name on it, yet their ride data and PR will still be showing a faster time than the 1st placed rider on the list. I think it must be an issue with how Strava uses the data you upload.

I had this on a running CR segment from last Wednesday - I got the notification of the CR in my activity but didn't appear at the top of the leaderboard. I just checked again today and I've now appeared at the top - I took no action myself. I wonder if there are criteria for some segments to be auto-flagged or at least held for a random check/sanity check first?

I don't know about that. My son has a similar problem with one particular segment. Me and him have a joint KOM on it (separately, but using the same bike, coincidentally), and I've agreed not to attack it unless we are usurped by a third party. It doesn't stop him from beasting himself on it, though, but he never gets an acknowledgement of having ridden this segment on his activity feed these days. The trace is good (no drift) and we've checked his privacy settings and it's well outside the 'hidden' zone, yet I ride it regularly (it's one of the main access tracks into local woodland) and it appears on my activity feed. He uses the Strava App on a Samsung smart phone, I use a Garmin Edge 500, if that makes any difference.

I was going to post on here and ask why my biggest all-time climb was 16ft. But I notice today, after climbing 2,000ft in 30 miles, that my biggest all-time climb is now 17 ft... which still doesn't seem much. Why?

(Edited for spelling pedantry)

Living in a crumpled bit of the Chilterns and despite me having to always do a 50m 8% climb to get back to my house, here's what Strava reckons is my biggest climb confused

What I think happened in my case at least is that I'd been through a segment created by someone else that had erroneous data. It was an effectively flat section through an Amersham housing estate, but originally it contained some sort of elevation/GPS error that showed it as a large hill, something like 250m.

Even though the segment data was later invalidated and it now shows a more believable elevation change of 3m, Strava obviously still has this segment ID recorded as my 'biggest hill', so despite any efforts on my part it seems to remain my most mighty conquest.

Two potential ways to fix this:

1) Find the rotten segment and delete the ride(s) that went over it, or
2) Go and ride a proper hill somewhere to usurp it. Bit difficult when the highest point around is only something like 269m, and even Whiteleaf and Kop Hill only gain something like 125m!

I'm using an iPhone, but looking back through my feed it is only the last few passes through that have been missed - since I took a fall, pushing for a faster time through there last week...

KOM leaderboard fix - it's a well known issue.

If your KOM fails to show on the leaderboard it's an easy fix. Make the ride private, then save it, then make it public again (through the little spanner icon wink), voila thumbup

Edit: whoops MadDad already posted this.

Anyone else taking advantage of the southwesterly gales at the moment? Blatant strava whoring for me today, much to the annoyance of the former KOM holder! Feel dirty now.

Guilty as charged m'lud

KOM attempt failed though. It must have been blowing a hurricane when it was set back in 2011. No one has got within 30 seconds in four years!

There was a fix mentioned for that a few posts back. I'm not even getting a time for the segment.

If my segments aren't showing achievements I make the ride private then public again. Usually that does the trick.
