No more Google maps in Strava then, OSM intstead.
The off road tracks are marked better but shame to lose Streetview.

I don't like change, and from the feedback I've read, it isn't change for the better. Harrrrrrumph!
. . and I thought starva was going to start using google/bing/apple satellite maps on the strava app?
OSM are only as good as the people who make them. There are loads of places I go where they didn't exist, so years ago, I started making them myself. In some countries OSMs are really dire.
I actually think OSMs are much better for off road stuff like mountain biking or trail running. I use the OSMs on my garmin and they seem to work well even for directions etc. Missing street view or a satellite map option on the website is a big shame though.
ETA . . Looks like there is still a satellite map on the website?

This may be related to the map change but since last week the routing seemed to be much less smart. I had to add double the number of waypoints to force it into routes that I know to be 'true'.
In reality, route creation is a PITA using Strava. The only real plus was the 'popularity' weighting.

I did a long ride yesterday but somehow did not record the first 40 odd miles.
All is not lost, I can get Garmin files from the guys I rode with, the question is is there an easy way to stitch the two files, e.g. mine for the last 60 and theirs for the first 40.
I could just pass off one of my friend's rides as my own, but frankly I was falling behind by the end so it would not be a true representation!

Oh, that's a pain as I don't use Instagram. I just want to add a Veloviewer 3D image to a recent ride as it looks quite funky.

Anyone know how to add a photo to a ride in the desktop version?
I've done it on my mobile in the past, but can't for the life of me see how it's done on the PC
I don't think you can on the website. You can sync Instagram, but not upload new photos.I've done it on my mobile in the past, but can't for the life of me see how it's done on the PC
Synced some kitesurfing yesterday measured by my Garmin 500. Initially the Garmin had found 1800m of elevation gain over 9 miles whilst riding on the Mediterranean. That is more elevation gain that most of my long rides, even when I go looking for hills!
Strava's elevation correction feature fixed it to zero as expected.

Not often you get over a page of KOM's in one ride. That is the fastest anyone has ever gone round Richmond Park and around 20 secs behind David Millar when he did a hot lap with car to keep him safe (also before they added speedbumps).

fking hell. Not often you get over a page of KOM's in one ride. That is the fastest anyone has ever gone round Richmond Park and around 20 secs behind David Millar when he did a hot lap with car to keep him safe (also before they added speedbumps).
Glad I kept you on Strava as was wondering how the hell I'd come to be following you after I'd clocked it uploaded tonight.

Awesome achievement, well done. 400W for 14 minutes is impressive in itself. Getting the Richmond Park KOM on a commuter bike with rucksack is something else!
Haha, it wasn't really on a commuter (if you were being serious) it was on my TT bike, but seeing as all the other fast times were I thought it only fair, Yeh normalised power was about 415W, quite a bit of freewheeling in the park due to corners and hills you don't need to pedal down as you're going plenty quick enough!okgo said:

Oh sorry, I saw Genesis Flyer when I commented on Strava but failed to see the wink. Oops. Now realise that's a singlespeed and therefore physically impossible. Fantastic effort anyway! Box Hill next?Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
