Yup!
I've got an insane downhill road KOM somewhere north of Goodwood. I've been back twice and can't get near it again though. Probably something to do with actually braking on the way down now. First time I did it I had no idea what was coming at the bottom of the hill, having never ridden or even driven the route before. Getting to the sharp left turn at something like 45 mph, only just making the turn, and being confronted by an upside-down LandRover Defender which was lying in a ditch having not made the turn successfully on that first run has somewhat clouded my ability to stay off the brakes on further attempts. Kind of an "ignorance is bliss" situation that first time I rode down there. Now, though, it just feels too scary to push hard down to the turn at the bottom.

We were talking about this on the Sunday club run
Our club isn't very good at staying together as a group on the road, or of making sure everyone sticks to the published route and we were thinking of ways of knowing where each other is 'live' when people go missing...
I don't have a computer of any type and I am really bothered about sticking with the route of finding the rest of the group if I get lost, but I can see an advantage in being able to know where everyone that set off together actually is from time to time
Is strava premium the right way to go about this?
That's more a fundamental issue with the club tbh, the whole point of riding with a club on day a Sunday morning is to stick together as a group, ride an organised route with a dedicated leader and wait for the group at the top of climbs or if the group gets split at junctions etc. Our club isn't very good at staying together as a group on the road, or of making sure everyone sticks to the published route and we were thinking of ways of knowing where each other is 'live' when people go missing...

That must be incredibly frustrating for any new members to come on an 'organised' ride then get dropped, left behind or led off course.
Rather than looking at gadgets I'd send a message to the club secretary or ride leader and express your concerns, that's not how a club should operate.
Hi guys looking for some help if possible.
Ive just swapped phones from an iPhone 6s to a Galaxy S8, Strava doesn't seem to work properly and im not sure it might be something I haven't set up correctly in the settings?
Basically ill tap to start recording a ride, and if the phone locks (I always locked the 6s) or I stop at lights etc which triggers the auto pause, it pauses the ride until I open my phone again. Last nights commute home for example;
Moving time: 2min 18s
Distance: 2.3mile
Average speed: 61.2mph lol
Anyone know whats going on?
cheers

A bit like this one
https://www.strava.com/activities/1220279592/segme...
Top rider is 16 seconds quicker than second place, speed 39.6 mph unbelievable.
Yet the rider also advertises his online bike store in his name

Mine was doing the same, it was because I had my phone in a power save mode. Turned off said mode and no further problems. Ive just swapped phones from an iPhone 6s to a Galaxy S8, Strava doesn't seem to work properly and im not sure it might be something I haven't set up correctly in the settings?

Make sure you don't have any power saving modes enabled. My HTC does this if the power saver is switched on. Ive just swapped phones from an iPhone 6s to a Galaxy S8, Strava doesn't seem to work properly and im not sure it might be something I haven't set up correctly in the settings?

Probably a iPhone/Strava GPS anomaly. https://www.strava.com/activities/1220279592/segme...

Also Cycle Divison isn't his 'online store', it's who he rides for.

Nooooooooooo!
What the blue blazes have the IT chimps done to the activity feed now???????
Grrrrr!
Yesterday morning it was fine. All "normal" and pretty easy on the eyes. Now it looks like a botched mess from a high school computer science project. It's bloomin' 'orrible.
I see what you mean, I only usually use the app on my phone, but the new web interface doesn't look as good as the old one. What the blue blazes have the IT chimps done to the activity feed now???????
