Anyone else findings Strava less relevant than it was when free? I'm finding myself gravitating to Garmin more now, but I have so much data on Strava I don't want to lose it.
Would quite like a way to narrow down segments and others, a toggle to turn off all the stupid small downhill/light sets that seem to be everywhere , and find some kind of competitors rather than ranking 8000 on everything rolleyes

Also found the maps still sub-ridewgps regardless of time and effort they've put in.

Surprised Garmin/wahoo (which I use) haven't incorporated routes and other people better already. Much prefer the wahoo interface.

I use garmin connect but just sync rides to Strava

I like the garmin metrics but Strava is more for fun and social side

The club function on Strava is quite useful for organising our clubs training rides. Not everyone rides with a garmin (quite a few wahoo users) and a third party single source is better in my opinion.

The metrics on strava could do with an improvement though

What metrics do you want?

I've just installed the Sauce plug in for Strava on Chrome, quite like it.

Garmin does a lot with the power, and provides insight into different training areas (training effects) as well as adjusts power and HR zones based on ride performance. I can also see 1/5/10/20min max average power and a couple of other bits like that.

You can do most of that with Strava, and adding Sauce will give you all the stats you know from Connect (NP/TSS etc).

Ah TIL, I'll have a look at that when on my own PC (work aren't keen on plugins!)

I like the automatically estimated FTP using HR data Strava just uses a power curve

How are we doing on Strava as the year comes to a close?

My goal is to exceed 5665 miles every year (even if only by a little bit).

In 2020 I did 5861 miles, I'm currently on 5293 miles, it's going to be touch and go! biggrin

4,000 miles target for me, I’m currently on 3,910.

Best ever year was 2020, 4,012 miles do hoping to exceed that.

I'll get to 2,000 miles before the end of next week which I'm really happy about, another record for me despite being out of action all the summer. Did my first metric century, imperial century and double imperial century this year too.

VeloViewer currently projecting 8,172 ml, from 7,896 ml year to date. For 2020 I just scraped in 9,000 ml but that was a bit mad over the Xmas week. Motivation is declining, as is my tolerance for cold and/or wet!

My target was 8000km, which I've done already. For a bonus I need to beat last year, which was 8382km, so I still have 160 to do to beat that, should be easily done as the weather's looking quite good.

I'd aimed for 8000km this year, but looking like it'll be around 7000km due to a shoulder op in November and also issues with family life taking over through the year

My annual goal is 6,000 miles. Strava says I'm on 4,237.5 miles right now. The VeloViewer projection graph seems optimistic to me, suggesting that I'm still on for 5,056 miles this year.

A couple of lean months earlier in the year, and a lack of Mojo for the last three weeks (flatlining currently) have knocked my goal back this year. I'm trying to motivate myself right now to just get into the garage and get the tools out. Two bikes need brake cartridges, chains, and cassettes changing. All simple tasks but my get-up-and-go seems to have gotten up and left... frown
