My annual goal is 6,000 miles. Strava says I'm on 4,237.5 miles right now. The VeloViewer projection graph seems optimistic to me, suggesting that I'm still on for 5,056 miles this year.
I agree the VV projections near the year-end always seem ambitious - unless you inhabit the Southern Hemisphere. I'm unclear how the 'previous years' trend' operates, eg based on all previous years or weighted to the most recent? I tend to find setting the slider to 'last 7 days' is more realistic, or better still just count the number of likely cycling days left, discount for weather, hangovers, domestic arrangements etc, and factor in typical ride mileage.

Good luck anyway.

Strava experts:

Does anyone know if it's possible to host a route on a "Club" page? Basically, I'd like to create a collection of 'approved' routes for our club members to try in their own time. If there's a way of having a leaderboard for the routes then even better.

Group challenges?

We did look at that but it looks like they're all most distance / time type goals. We're trying to have some specific routes saved. The group is for coworkers who travel to the same locations all the time and need some inspiration / competition when they're away from home in a new place.

Can you not create a segment? For example there’s a 10km TT segment used by a club near us. If you can do this you can have your own TT to work segment. Might be open to everyone though so you might get some randoms on your leaderboard.

You can filter a leaderboard by a club, so it would work well.

Yea we have some routes as segments, 20-25 mile loops that the “fast” group do as training rides. Tbh on longer segments it’s unusual for other people to do the exact same route so it will end up as a club leaderboard anyway.

Means someone has to do it first though so the segment can be created.

Think filtering by club is a Strava premium only feature?

Not routes, but segments-wise I was part of a group that had a "Gravel Time Trial" competition running for a while. Basically the club admin would nominate the first TT segment and we'd have a week to ride it. That grew to two weeks per nominated segment, with the winner of the previous one nominating the next segment for the competition. Lots of use of the '@' to make sure all of the small group picked up any announcements, and obviously a Strava club page too, with discussion and folk warning everyone else if there was some obstacle or hazard on the chosen segment. this was during lockdown when people were advised not to ride with one-another. The contest slowly dwindled to nothing as we came out of lockdown as it was deemed inappropriate encouraging folk to "race" on public rights of way now that walkers and runners were back into the more remote parts of the forest.

The way I can see it working for a whole loop is that one person creates the route on Strava, and then posts the route as a link or a "copy and search for" line of text (if linking doesn't work) on the club's Strava page. Then one of the early riders to complete it can create it as a segment in order to fill out a club leaderboard. Either by filtering (by club) or, as someone else suggested, it would effectively be a club members only segment anyway, as over longer distances fewer folk ride exactly the same routes as random strangers. You could also have more than one segment on a loop, with various starting points so that folk could begin their ride closer to home, then "sub" segments of the whole loop could be used to keep an eye on who (from the club) was riding the loop or parts thereof. It obviously needs someone who is willing to act as an "admin" for it, though. Possibly copying/pasting details off segment leaderboards for those what aren't subscribed to Strava's premium features.

Although we did once "gatecrash" another clubs route by accident and got the top 5 places on the segment. the other club got all ar$ey and deleted the segment as they thought we had done it on purpose
