Bloody cold
I hope it warms up again soon because I holed the knee on my bib-tights this morning in a cleat fail low speed tumble. Way before I got to CS7 though.

Can't understand not wanting to wear leg warmers etc.????

This morning I felt comfortable all the way (over 2 hrs) but I was wearing long finger gloves, a buff pulled up over my ears, neoprene overshoes, bib-tights, a decent long sleeve base layer and a 'soft-shell'.

I just got on the DLR in blazing sunshine and got out at Monument to find the same but with loads of standing water. Seems like I missed the biblical downpour in the middle.

Only about 5 spots of rain on my 20km detour home. Plenty of mud in the woods still though.

Looking a little grey here in Cheshire hopefully will get your tail wind. Incidentally do peeps use an app to track wind direction ?

Was a pleasant sunny ride in both directions, headwind home, which was good as a I was overdressed. Winter boots can now hopefully be put away.

Wildlife highlights included a barn owl and a sparrow hawk, plenty of fresh little ducklings in the fenland drains, and the swan is still sitting on her nest, so probably another three weeks before hatching.

I try and ignore it so as not to have an excuse to get the train, but the bbc weather app shows wind speed and vague direction in the default view.

Looks sunny and a slight tail wind for me in the morning if the trespassers on the line at Victoria and evening boozes don't mean I'm home to late/incapable to give tomorrow morning a go. Tempted because I have a new (to me) bike but would mean fitting lights, pump, pedals etc. at 5:30 tomorrow.

Lovely ride in today, bit chilly at 6am but soon warmed up and glorious sunshine. I knocked a good few minutes off my commute time with the new bike, which was nice. First one under 2 hrs

Less nice was today's ear worm which was running round my head on the way in. I feel slightly guilty for sharing this...

But fresh this morning, but OK in shoes rather than winter boots, and then scorching warm for the ride home, thankfully took spare clothes just in case. Saw a rare sight on the fens this morning a roe deer bouncing it's way across a field, see them on the wolds occasionally but open fenland was a new one.

Not commuting, granted, but I damn near hit a Roe Deer stag today in the middle of a downhill single-track segment locally. I don't know which of us st itself more, me or the deer, but it took off at a rate of knots. I think it's the same beast I nearly crashed into about a week ago in the dark. I got close to a couple of hinds too, on the trail at the edge of the woods. They're pretty active at this time of the year, and not restricting themselves to dawn and dusk feeding.

Bit chilly first thing (around 4-5 degrees) but was around 11 by the time I got into work, and it's bloody glorious weather out there now.

Can't wait for the weekend..... Looks like it'll be my first time wearing a short sleeve jersey and summer shorts for AGES!

On this this week's car commutes I'd been enviously eyeing folk managing to get out in this weather and I finally managed it today (logistics of kid drop-offs etc.).

My ride on bank holiday Monday was still in tights, skully, two layers of gloves etc. so it felt glorious to got out this morning in only a top and shorts. About bloody time!

Even though I managed a good (for me) average of 19.5mph I was barely sweaty when I got to work, just the right temperature. Quick shower and I was good to go.

The ride took me 35 minutes, I really wouldn't have managed it any quicker in the car considering traffic smile

Bring on the ride home.

Probably not no!
I'm only just getting going really and feeling my way.

First week I'd go in one day and back another.
Then I did it twice (Monday in, Tuesday out, Wednesday off, Thursday in, Friday out).
Last week I did Tuesday in and out because of the RMT strike action and Thursday in and out because I could.

This week I'm just doing Wednesday in and Thursday out, for operational reasons and because I'm signed up to do my first ever triathlon at the weekend and don't want to over do anything.

It's probably not practical for me to do day in day out all journeys because there just isn't time and I like the idea that pher j00pY mentioned on my commuting thread of making it a bit of a treat.
