Coming home last night, someone on a Pinarello Dogma2 in Sky colours, with beautiful Cosmic rims, dressed in Rapha gear, elbowed his way to the front of the queue at Putney bridge traffic lights, then jumped the lights as soon as there was a gap and headed off down the Lower Richmond Road.
I took great pleasure in catching and passing him half a mile down the road, as I'm sure did the group of four other guys around me. I don't have a problem with someone having a smart bike (other than base jealousy) but it's a real shame when they're a twunt.

Last day on the train for a while today (I hope!)
Last interview today (seem to have been atleast one a day for the past 3 weeks) so keen to get back into it from tomorrow!
Hopefully the PH jersey will arrive too and be on full show for commuting duties!

Cycled into work and back home for the first time yesterday (and it'll be a while before I do it again)
19.1m both ways with almost 2k feet of climbing - took me 1hr 10 mins which isn't too bad.
The ride home is fine but the ride in is the one that does the damage - I just wanted to fall asleep from 10am till 3pm.

Nearly fainted 3-4 miles into my ride home yesterday
I completely ran out of energy! Luckily I was near a petrol station so I gorged myself on a pair of oat flapjacks and a triple choc muffin... Refuel complete!
But it was still a hard ride home.
I don't know how I ended up like that but I really didn't like it

Saw an interesting one yesterday - a 50yr old bloke on a hybrid commuter bike. He was covered head to toe in high-viz, his helmet had stickers, his bike was covered in the stuff, his shoes, even his socks, but what got me was that he was wearing elbow and knee pads. I suspect with that level of confidence in his ability to stay upright on a tarmac road cycling isn't for him, but perhaps I'm being a bit harsh.

Bonking is not fun.
Do people deliberately not maintain their bikes?

I got home last night in a state of some bonking distress, to find that my rack-pack bag was hanging half off, and not only had I snapped a spoke but it had wrapped itself round the hub and was doing a good impression of spokey dokeys.
