Biblical rain tonight. Got 2 mins into the ride home and the heavens opened. The rain actually hurt so much I had to stop. After it stopped I continued my ride to find the main road outta Southampton blocked. Footage to follow. Despite getting soaked, I enjoyed the ride home, and I'm sure I got home hours and hours before everyone in their cars...

Vindicated for a third time....In seriousness, I was SO glad when I was leaving work at 6ish that I'd driven, it was (as you rightly say) biblical. Hope you got home okay.
Was that footage of the road out to Milbrook, Totton and beyond? I took the wife's car today, but I'd have been nervous in my car about the intake (Z4 on lowered springs...)

I always like riding in the rain, so no one can see me crying!TonyHetherington said:
Utterly tanking it down here, and I'm riding home in 90 mins. Is it weird I'm looking forward to it a little bit?
More so the hot shower and nice cup of tea when I get in, I guess
I was thinking something similar. I have a waterproof to go over the top, and I'm on the mountainbike, so I'm not so worried about the lack of stopping ability in the rain. I might head as far along the Thames as I can before it gets too dark or I get too cold, before heading home for fish and chips...More so the hot shower and nice cup of tea when I get in, I guess
Evening plan executed perfectly, had a loads of fun. Since the tide was very high tonight I ended up riding through quite a lot of water over the axles. I was laughing like a loon. I had to shower in my clothes, and chuck them out the window into the garden as I took them off.
The fish nd chips were good too!

I met another death wish idiot on a single speed yesterday evening in Clapham.
was busily demonstrating with a French coach driver for almost crushing him to death, and completely failed to accept my point that there was a very good chance that the coach driver hasn't even seen him in his black to and trousers with no lights or reflectors.

It's bizarre, isn't it! I'll rant with the best of them when I'm flashing like a christmas tree and wearing fluro but the number of numptys in dark clothing with no lights is astonishing!was busily demonstrating with a French coach driver for almost crushing him to death, and completely failed to accept my point that there was a very good chance that the coach driver hasn't even seen him in his black to and trousers with no lights or reflectors.
