The daily "I cycled to work" thread

Cycling top and shorts this morning and coming home at night - lovely..
No morons in town today, but there was a couple 2 seconds from home, deciding they could come out onto my side of the road (oncoming) to get past parked cars.. Probably missed them by a couple of inches.
Also had to fight the urge to slap the back of a guys head who decided to make full eye contact with me then walk super slowly over the road into my path with his big headphones on...
Other than that, really enjoyed myself. Coming home though is all up hill, hours later and my legs are still jelly... I may feel this tomorrow.. Also my bum is killing! Not cycled properly since last year!!

I'm fortunate that only about 1.5 miles of my commute is through suburbia. Unfortunately, said suburbia is absolutely full of myopic, moronic drivers who try to force their cars past cyclists at junctions, width restrictions, parked cars and between oncoming cars.
I wouldn't commute if the entire route was like that.

Cold enough for full-finger windproof gloves and long-sleeve jersey on the way in (too cold for thinner, short-sleeve jersey and arm warmers), too bloody warm on the way back
Same problem I had today! Nice and chilly at 5am glorious sunshine at 5pm. Winter gloves and a short sleeve Jersey looks special! However the evening sun got me home 5 minutes quicker than all my other winter times. Can't wait for the good weather to set in fully! It looked a lovely morning today when I went to the garage for the bike so I though I'll take my road bike with my brand new Zondas, cassette and chain on that I am hoping to keep spic and span for this Sundays Cheshire Cat sportive.
Half way in to the ride, it started raining. Grrr

Had the gears indexed on the folder and new Bottom bracket fitted on Sunday. Gears are now much better, but the freehub feels terrible. I swear it wasn't like that when I used the bike on Friday. Bottom braacket was in a poor state. Had to stop mid ride on Friday to tighten up the crank arm!
However, cycle in today with with gears that worked properly was quite nice. Bit chilly cycling to the station, but thankfully it had warmed up by the time I reached Euston. Still glad I wore my ear warmer and buff
Not sure what to do with the freehub. Don't want to have to go back to using the tube Might see if one of the local cycle shops can have a look at it during the week.

First ride in for a month, after a long holiday in Oz with no riding. Felt fresh and knackered all at the same time. Also nearly managed to bin it in the first mile, when a van stopped suddenly - I stuck the bike on its nose and somehow stopped in time. Amazing how quickly you forget how alert you need to be! I was a bit more cautious after that...

You missed out, some great riding here. That said I did similar to you the other day, only without the word 'nearly'.

Spot what's missing: Socks, boxers, shoes, shirt, tie....
We've all been there. Just front it out (literally) and see if anyone dares to comment...
