Flat riding home. Conveniently near a pun with a beer garden.

I always find sorting a flat out much more pleasant in the sunshine with a tasty beverage.

The roadworks are actually for your benefit, as I think that is the construction of the cycling superhighway. Its going to be on Lower Thames Street too and that is right where my office is. I'm still not convinced its a good idea.

My ride to the station was very wet, but thankfully there was no rain on my ride from the station to the office. I have discovered that MTB/Commuting shorts are not waterproof at all. Think I am going to have to spend serious money on some decent shorts for the winter frown

Yeah, i saw that, good going. I see its also mostly uphill going, so the ride home should be nice.
Ride home was headwind all the way, it really didn't feel downhill, was knackered by the time I got to the TT, new slowest time.

It's still a massive pain having 1 lane each way right now and a load of traffic. I'm trying to find a different route to avoid it, took me 12 minutes to get to Westminster (2 miles from St Pauls) the other day, and then 18 from there to Putney (6 miles)!

Had a decent run in and back today although came mm's from taking out a ped.

I was coming down a long downhill section at a good 25-30mph. The lady in question stepped out right in front of me without looking and with her phone glued to her ear. There was no time to shout it was just a case of grabbing a handful of brake, choosing a line and swerving.

Unfortunately the sudden sound of my brakes just a few feet away startled her and to my horror she froze on the spot. The line I had chosen was how pretty much full of pedestrian but I was fully committed and had to continue on my chosen path. I brushed her lightly with my shoulder as I bombed past still doing well over 20mph.

Thank God for disks. Without them I'd probably have collected her and it would have been nasty.

Anyway, woke me up that did :-)
I got so frustrated on Friday with all the pedestrians/ dog walkers / cyclists who didn't hear / respond to my bell I went on Amazon, the minute I walked through the door and ordered one of these:

It arrived this morning at work and I can't wait to fit it and ride home. Preliminary investigations can confirm it is fking loud (officially 115dB). £16 with free delivery. Can't fault it.
That looks excellent :-) :-)

TBH I wasn't at all hacked off at the ped. It's just one of those things and I do myself from time to time if I'm honest.

Nice journey in this morning - cool, blue skies, sunny, and most of the traffic lights were green.

750 miles for the year so far because I'm a complete pansy who only does the cycling thing when British Summer Time is in effect.

Rather breezy today! Stopped and lent a multi tool to a bloke whose aero bars kept slipping down. Although Christ knows why he was on the aeros in central London (he was heading to Hillingdon after work so it was fair enough that he had them fitted, but no need to actually be using them!). So I feel like I've done my good deed for the day.

Decent run in this morning - lovely sunshine and a bit of a chilly wind. Definitely a better start to the day than the whole journey on the train.

Bloody cold and windy this morning. Knee warmers and arm warmers were required.

Hurry up summer, it will be winter soon!

Blimey the women at work have demanded the heating is on, so the boiler is now flat out in JUNE, FML

Don't mind the cold as I have a decent (in commuter terms) climb out my village, plus it means I don't need a shower when I get to work wearing SS top and shorts

He felt suitably like a plum

Massive headwind today, so very much looking forward to the ride home tonight.
