Nice journey in this morning - cool, blue skies, sunny, and most of the traffic lights were green.

750 miles for the year so far because I'm a complete pansy who only does the cycling thing when British Summer Time is in effect.

Rather breezy today! Stopped and lent a multi tool to a bloke whose aero bars kept slipping down. Although Christ knows why he was on the aeros in central London (he was heading to Hillingdon after work so it was fair enough that he had them fitted, but no need to actually be using them!). So I feel like I've done my good deed for the day.

Decent run in this morning - lovely sunshine and a bit of a chilly wind. Definitely a better start to the day than the whole journey on the train.

Again this morning, bit of chill in that head wind.

Bloody cold and windy this morning. Knee warmers and arm warmers were required.

Hurry up summer, it will be winter soon!

Cold? I had to take my hi vis jacket off 2 miles from work this morning. Shorts and t-shirt was all I had. Some of you need to man up! wink

Bit nippy this morning and a bd of a headwind. Took a detour and made it 34.6 miles though with 2500ft of climb smile

Blimey the women at work have demanded the heating is on, so the boiler is now flat out in JUNE, FML

Don't mind the cold as I have a decent (in commuter terms) climb out my village, plus it means I don't need a shower when I get to work wearing SS top and shorts

He felt suitably like a plum

Massive headwind today, so very much looking forward to the ride home tonight.

I threw on a set of aero bars last night, with minimal setting-up and a quick sit on the bike whilst leaning against my tool chest.

Commuting in this morning, it felt quite narrow to begin with and I was sat near the front of the saddle, but I ended up fairly comfortable and I don't think the position is actually too far off, as I do have my bars fairly low and my seat fairly far forward anyway to suit my leg dimensions.

Most importantly, I was quicker on various sections of the ride than I have been before for a given effort, even without a tail-wind. I had been doing a fair bit of hilly running and riding last week, though, so my fitness might also have improved.

I get a headwind in the morning, and a headwind on the way home everyday. The wind direction flips during the day. Much swearing from me on the way home tonight.

Lovely still, sunny night tonight up here in Northumberland, but woke for my nightshift feeling rough and coughing my guts up, after crawling around in the loft all day yesterday.
I thought the ride may make me feel better. Big mistake. Coughed all the way to work, ached and couldn't breathe properly. I had to just spin a stupidly easy gear just to get to work. I sweated so much it soaked through my jersey, through my back pack and even soaked the clean t-shirt I had in my bag for when I got to work. irked

That is the first ride since getting back into cycling a couple of years ago, where I didn't enjoy a single second.
Moral of the story. If it doesn't feel right don't force it.

After this morning's still & sunny weather, the ride home was a bit disappointing as it wasn't that warm, it was a bit dull and there was a strange wind that seemed to be a headwind in almost all directions!

Went up from Southampton to Whitchurch this evening, which was a mistake. That wind was brutal.

Not that still this morning for me unfortunately. This afternoon was certainly wind from multiple angles! I start the ride home riding north west, and then turn north east for the second half, and I had strong winds coming at me on both legs. Disappointing indeed.

I had a cracking tailwind last night. Got some Strava top 10s out of it. Over the moon to see they were on some well ridden segments.

But as okgo has ridden most of local roads I'm always showing at best 2nd in the PH group! Must try harder.

My ride started off decidedly chilly in North West London but ended up in warm sun in the city.

Took it easy-ish as my legs were tired from a four mile run yesterday and I was riding into a headwind.

Lidl granola again (it's addictive)
