It was a very nice ride in this morning. The legs were feeling a bit stiff, but the warm weather always make me ride more quickly for the perceived effort.

Detour this morning as I wanted some more miles. Felt quite good near the end. Absolutely lovely weather out there!

Edit - sorry for any cricked necks!
Ok, but it will be much easier to read whilst riding your bike if you mount it the other way.

Assuming I make it home again today....this will be 3 days on the trot, same as last week, tomorrow and Friday are going to be the big test.

How far is your commute and what hours do you work?

I've only ever done 4 days in a week plus another at the weekend. 18.6 miles each way minimum. On my shorter days it's fine.... But 0800-1900 working hours I found it too much.

Its about 5.5 miles! Don't under estimate my lack of fitness and lardyness! I am the slowest cyclist at the moment, although I don't walk over the Itchen Bridge like some.

Usually leave Hamble about 7.10 and arrive near the football stadium about 30 mins later.

You must work right next to my father's company which is just off brittania Road!

Good effort on riding in.... You may say you're the slowest cyclist.....but you're still a cyclist. You're doing more than a lot of others thumbup

almost got taken out by a blue VW Polo today. A quick precis of events..

Riding along wide single carrriageway main road, passing is possible even if I'm in the primary position which I'm not, so I shoulder check, see Polo behind me not closing just maintaining a steady gap, look back ahead, see traffic island ahead, intend to turn right just after traffic island so.... shoulder check, Polo still no closer, clearly indicate right, move out, Polo then decidies she cant wait any longer, comes past, brushes right elbow, cuts in front of me and the traffic island... another inch to the right and I would have been down. Utter, utter fkwit.

^ Scary.

Last week I had an Audi wait behind when the other side of the road was clear and then she went between me and a car which appeared on the other side while she was waiting. I had a polite word when I caught up with her. I did actually do it politely and she said sorry. She had no idea it was dangerous, which is why I think the bang on the car thing some people do is pointless. People that pass close don't think they're doing anything wrong.

Going to cycle in tomorrow for the first time in a while. Due to start work at 0700, want to leave mine at 0530 as I like getting in early (and no wait for the showers).

Going to take the long way home as its only two and a half miles each way.

I'm in Ocean Quay.

4th Day this week on the bike. First time ever.

(I'm also decorating a recent BTL house purchase in Netley Abbey, 3 hours a night. I'm eating like a whole family and shattered.)

Nice steady ride in this morning on the CX bike after riding along the Trans Pennine trail with my 8 year old daughter to the childminder's house.

Granola.

Quick shout out to the spotty oik of 18 or 19 driving their parents' Mercedes E class cab, that turned right across the oncoming traffic (ie. me) in Worcester yesterday evening, then shouted something out of the window which wasn't 'Sorry that was my fault'....you have poor manners.

Everyday this week for me (both ways), perfect weather, sunny but a decent breeze.

And yes to shorts, I've been in mine since April, although wearing a hoody in the mornings up until this week.

I've noticed a huge increase in the number of cyclists on my commute, bloody fairweather riders! wink

Now that I've organised the troops I shall be having a coffee and stripping the bike down and doing some p/m in the sun.

Tomorrow and Sunday are supposed to have rain and cloud frown

I'm the same, probably ditched the tights about April too.

Cracking ride in this morning, PRs all the way on Strava and that's even after a few Butcombes last night drunk
