5.5 miles each way, along the promenade from Poole to Boscombe and then up through Boscombe Gardens.

A beautiful ride at any time of the year, except when there's a headwind, bloody hate them.

Watch out for barriers though! wink

Birmingham airport (ish) to the middle of Coventry.
10.5 miles total.
Back roads, fairly flat, occasional blind corner for seven and a bit miles.
Then suburbia/dual carriageway/traffic lights into Coventry centre for three miles.
Between 36 and 42 minutes to get in, depending mostly on traffic lights, 38 to 45 minutes home due to it being more uphill home and prevailing winds.
I probably see you.

My commute is 2.5km - urban terraced roads, woods, cyclepath, cyclelane then pavement/cyclepath. When I ride in I always take a much longer route home though.

It's a small world really, on my route there's a guy that I often see as KoM on various parts around where I live.

It turns out that our daughters are in the same class at pre-school and are great friends, I discovered this at a play park this weekend when the girls bumped into each other and we got talking about cycling, when I added him to my Strava it all clicked into place.

20 miles each way for me, from the top (ish) of the North Downs to Tottenham Court Road.

A mixture of A-roads, twisty unclassifieds, suburbia then urban chaos.

Lovely riding home, going from central London, through the suburbs, then finally breaking through into open countryside...although the second ten miles can be a bit of a grind if the winds in the wrong direction:

Always worth double checking that bike shops have given you what you ordered. I learnt that the hard way tonight, turns out both of the unboxed tubes that I'd stuffed into my jersey from Ribble were 650c rather than 700c!

"It" happened on the way home and couldn't have been in a better location at the front of a big queue of cars at a 4 way junction. Lots of people out of their cars to see if I'd had a heart attack. Last time was around 3 years ago, so not doing too badly. My left knee took the brunt of the impact losing a fair bit of skin and rather painful.

However, got home and was picked up by a mate in his car and drove to the bottom of Holme Moss and did a few ascents in the beautiful weather, a really great ride out.

The long route aka the rarely ridden road route!
10 kms of quiet b-road
10 kms of busy single carriageway
6 kms of traffic free cycle path

The usual route
12 kms of traffic free cycle path - complete bliss, wake up, get on the bike still half asleep, bimble in and shower at work or get up for breakfast and coffee and then try to put in some sort of effort in the vain hope that its actually training....

The short route aka How close would sir like his pass?
3 kms of suburban Bristol
3 kms of traffic free cycle path

Lovely this morning.Since changing job I October, I have either part walked or cycled to work, as of today, I have self propelled myself 500 miles. Had a little sing song to myself as I went along this morning.

20 miles Newick in East sussex to Portslade (west of Brighton)

29er Hardtail, Alu frame. Only been riding since July last year.

Normal route:
1st couple on bridlepath up and down hills as a warm up, then hills for the next 4 or so on country lanes, then a bit of A road to Lewes, cyclepath along A27 to Falmer (incline all the way) BLITZ it from Falmer to the centre then the last 3 miles along the seafront as a warm down. normally about 1h 15m. Headwind depending!

Alternative route on way home, along the seafront, up Ditchling Road, (steep and long!), up to Ditchling Beacon then South Downs Way to Plumpton Bosstal MENTAL descent down the bostal then bridlepaths to home.

Started this job in Jan, do this five days per week. Shorts and T since March in all weathers! Must be feckin mental. But it's great.

Then normally a 50-60 mile off road jolly on one of my days off.

It is a great feeling doing all that exercise and getting out rather than sitting in traffic in the car.
Over the last 2 years, I'm at just over 2000 miles cycling and another 500+ miles of walking.

Had a decent ride this morning except the old bloke who told me to, "F***ing slow down" after I'd slowly approached him and his dog, which then decided to do a suicidal leap into the road in front of me. hehe

Typically 10-15 miles depending on the route - sometimes up to 25 miles when I can leave home early.

I try to do as much as possible on country roads but often have to go along the A56 between Lymm and Stockton Heath near Warrington.

Normally home is with a tail wind (the prevailing wind here is west to east, pretty much the direction I ride) and overall more downhill than the ride to work, so I average 20mph home and 17-18mph in. Those speeds are without a back pack.

My commute is 15.3 miles each way from edge of Cotswolds into Oxford. 8 miles of lanes, 5 miles on a cycle path alongside the A40 and the rest through North Oxford on cycle path, a bit of road and finishing along the canal towpath. Don't do this every day, normally 2 or 3 times a week. And it's uphill and usually into the wind on the way home mad

My last commute on the bike for a while. Work is changing, and I'll be in hotels for a while, so riding is probably not going to be practical. It's a sad day.

Did 30 miles south-west from Brum to Worcester yesterday evening.

Bit of a head wind. Legs felt awful - need to really cram the long rides in again pre-London - the traffic was awful (both in volume and general behaviour) and every pissing light was red.

Can you tell I didn't really enjoy it.

Hounslow <-> Heathrow 25km round trip made up of roughly equal segments of bland suburbia, country lane (really!) and perimeter road hell...

Eighteen miles each way, mostly across deserted fens apart from a three mile sprint down the A16 (horrid).

It's either bloody lovely or utterly awful...
eek

Sod that. The A16 is awful. smile

I live 25 miles from work. Could that be achieved on a bicycle? I'm far from fit enough to do it at the moment. It could be a fitness target though.

Detour this morning as I wanted some more miles. Felt quite good near the end. Absolutely lovely weather out there!

Edit - sorry for any cricked necks!
All that and only one lap! Must be the 'Ring or something. smile
