Irritating breeze yesterday.

Didn't mind it on the way home, mind, as I was dodging the tube strike.

First morning on the bike this week. Damp but refreshing. I commuted 1,000km in July but picked up a back injury at the weekend so been resting it this week. Without commuting by bike, I feel like I have an odd amount of surplus energy in the evenings. Even managed to watch a whole film last night without inspecting the back of the eyelids!

Breakfast this morning has been coffee (pint of).

A wet ride in this morning. I took it easy after having a bash at a TT 10 last night.

Fried egg and a wholegrain bagel for breakfast.

Bit fresh this morning as commented previously, makes a change from sweating so much though so shall not complain!

After reading the article on Dizzee's thread yesterday, I was trying to focus on scraping the mud off my shoes. Didn't feel too un natural, so assume I must kinda do it already.

Coffee and a cinnamon swirl.

Due to the Tube strike I Boris biked it in and out of central London yesterday so today's commute felt like I had an invisible hand pushing me along.

Slightly overcast so not as much dappled sunlight in the tricky descent past Denham golf club meant I didn't have to be as cautious.

Roads were almost empty, PRs everywhere biggrin

Nice quiet(ish) run between Brum and Worcester yesterday.

Had one guy drafting me for miles, and decided to slow right down to get him passed and doing some of the work...he then just rode me off his wheel and sodded off.

Bit embarrassing.

Not sure why, but my legs weren't really feeling it today.

Despite tired legs I managed a PR and a KOM on the way home, pretty pleased with that!

Got all organised yesterday and brought a weeks worth of clothes in, full week of commutes this week. New PR this morning, not a bad start. 18 degrees at 9AM helps smile

came across my 1st electric bike on Deansgate this morning just before I overtook him and then I turned right at the great northern.

Its a mild climb from the bottom of Deansgate, took longer that I though it would seeing the wider tyres and upright seating position and very slow cadence, then I overtook him and I saw it was "Assisted"

Humid this morning. Testing my revised aero position, but tired legs and a bit of a headwind prevented any record breaking.

It was very quiet on the roads, which is a good thing, although it did mean that one of the traffic lights wouldn't change for me as my bike hadn't triggered the buried coil sensor.

took me a while to realise that carbon frames suck at activating traffic lights smile

Humid in Bristol too. Struggled this morning with a new rucksack - not used to the various adjustments etc yet.

Was definitely a Monday morning blues commute for me though: doing a boring route to somewhere I don't want to go anyway! hehe

There are a couple of sets of these lights near me where my ally frame will not activate the induction loops in the ground. If a car doesn't come up behind me after a cycle of the lights, I gingerly cross when the opposing streams stop and my light stays on red.

I make my way past 3 sets of lights that are normally red on my way to work 04.45 to 05.10

quiet roads and the fact you can see and hear way better than a car, make it low risk if you careful = slow down and look very hard left, right and listen.
