You possibly all know this, but if trying to get a tight tyre on/off, it can make it much easier if you ensure that the opposite "end" of the tyre bead is sitting in the bottom of the "well" (ie. the low part in the middle) in the middle of the rim, not near the side of the rim. The bead may then have a bit more clearance to be pushed over the side of the rim.

I don't recall having much trouble with Gatorskins in the past, but I may have just forgotten...
Worth bearing in mind that the rim diameter is given as where the bead sits, so different wheels may have differing rim heights, making it more or less difficult to get tyres on or off.

Bloody cold this morning, and miserable - rain in wind in the face. Last week was annoying, having to wear extra layers in the morning then riding home in short sleeves carrying the layers in the bag, this week looking fully miserable. Plus I'm on the crappy old winter bike because I'm too vain to put mudguards on my beautiful Genesis. Hmmph.

Well, this morning was horrible on the south coast. Heading west the rain was horizontal into my face. Cruising speed of low 20's kph. Looking forward to the return tail wind... but not the hideously soggy clothing!

mudguards on, well splash guards on and winter top

Felt like winter, grim wet muddy lanes with spilt diesel all the way!

Still at least it wasn't yesterday, I didn't cycle but there was a bloody strong cold wind walking the dogs last night

Oh, I preferred yesterday to today. Yesterday I was mildly damp... this morning I was saturated! Commute was around 10 mins slower than usual too due to the feckin wind! Felt more like winter than the start of autumn.

Amazing though... beats sitting in traffic on the M27 :-D

Other way round for me. Yesterday was torrential, today was just moist.

Left the bike at home this monring. We had a lot of rain last night and it continued on into the morning with lots of roads flooded and with water running over the surface. Just not safe conditions to be riding in.

Let's hope it a bit better this morning.

Apparently "I have a call coming through" is a good excuse for an ambulance car to turn left without warning straight across me. At least help would have been on hand if I'd hit it though tongue out

I donned my full waterproofs this morning, only for the rain to stop as I left home. I took it very easy to avoid sweating and ended up removing the jacket 2/3 of the way there.

Quite pleasant on the way home, other than standing traffic to negotiate and having to follow a couple of buses through the suburbs.

Fitted a shorter stem 110 to 90mm in a bid to remove neck and shoulder pain and its so much better.Tonight I turned my 7 mile route home into a 13 mile journey and I reckon it has fixed it.

another dozy cyclist with head phones on weaving all over the cycle path and nearly took me out as they didn't hear my bell or me raising my voice !

I managed to avoid down pours this morning, I doubt I'll have the same luck going home. at least I will have dry clothes to put on.

Ditto. I was dressed for winter and expecting the worst as forecast... then it was actually mildly pleasant and so massively over heated. Doubt I will have that issue on the return journey.

I bought one of these. Best sixteen quid I've spent, the scenario now:

>weaving cyclist / jogger / dog walker with headphones<

Me using bell: ding ding

>no response<

Me: DING DING!

>no response<

Me (a lot closer now): HONK HONK

>defecation / heart failure / panic / leaping into bushes<

Me (stifling a laugh): thanks.
