Got very wet this morning. Had the waterproof jacket, but water still runs down your neck and into the base layer underneath.

Commuting shorts are just about shower proof let alone waterproof, so they are currently hanging up on a box in a spare office.

As expected socks are a little wet, but could have been a lot worse. It doesn't help that my overshoes are a little shredded now and because of that they don't fit that well.

Hoping its going to be dry for the journey home frown

Wet morning. One of my spokes snapped after 10 miles, first time that's happened to me. Wasn't really near anything so I continued with a rather wobbly wheel. 10 miles later I got a puncture (unrelated to the spoke). Thankfully the final 10 were uneventful.

I dropped the wheel off at http://www.scukco.com. They've fitted a temporary spoke and trued the wheel, they've ordered the correct aero spoke and will switch it over when it arrives. All for very little money, and means I should be able to ride home thumbup

Nice and dry today, bit cold when I set off so arm warmers were on but soon warm enough. PR of 43:42 and weight loss of 5lbs already has definitely given some motivation!

Lovely morning for this mornings ride and a PR and 11th place this year over Warburton Road Bridge. Not bad for a CX bike with low pressure knobbly tyres on!

Bit of pace tonight on the way home, felt faster than what it was but my legs still feel like they're adjusting to not just being sat down all day or on the tube. Got a bit unlucky with the lights at points, too.

Enjoying this commuting business!

I discovered a flat tyre on my commuter this morning, so took the road bike -which felt nice and nimble, having not ridden it for a few weeks.

There was a damp headwind for much of the route.

No thanks at all to the Passat driver who decided to overtake a tractor as he approached a bend that I was coming around in the opposite direction. He passed me closely on my side of the road. I'm just glad that the road wasn't slightly narrower and that I wasn't on my motorbike going at twice the speed.

Bit damp this morning but no rain, just very wet roads!

Overheated a little as it seemed warmer than I thought!

A nice sunny morning ride in for me.

Annoying though. Doing about 22 mph on the flat when a JCB passed me going only a few more mph more. About 30 seconds later reached the top of a long descent and his speed didn't change where as mine would have gone over 40 had he not been in the way. Made worse by the large queue of cars he was also holding up that then wanted to be passed me at the bottom of the hill when my speed dropped back to around 20 mph again.

Should have overtaken and dropped him. wink

The road was too busy and there was another car between me and the JCB makin it a long over take, otherwise I would have.

A while back I was passed by a tractor on a climb. Once on the flat again I caught up with him and then passed him on a descent. He caught me up on the next hill and passed me again but I then passed him a final time on another descent. This time I made good my escape biggrin

The expected tailwind on the way home was more of an unpleasant tail/cross-wind. Quite a quick ride though.
