Batteries ran out on my front light so went to buy more.
Ended up getting some new USB rechargeable lights at Evans.
Apparently 50 lumens rear and 80 lumens front and last for years.
Will see how they go but they seem pretty decent for commuting.

A superb ride home. I took the off road (lite) detour option. It was cool, but still and dry as the light was fading a bit.

Great ride in an back yesterday. 13 degrees is perfect for me - I can really get on it without getting too hot.

Only thing was that I forgot to charge my (very bright) LED's and the batteries in my secondary lights were a bit weak. Felt a little invisible on the way back.

Bit wet today, hopefully cheer up later. In the market for a better waterproof that handles more than an occasional shower. Any recommendations? I'm looking at the Gabba, currently. Are they all they're priced to be?

I have a Gabba, and it's a lovely thing, but I regard it as a grey weather drizzle jersey rather than full-on downpour wear. That said, I haven't ridden in it in a full-on downpour so I might be doing it a disservice.

I recently heard of the Parentini Mossa, which is supposed to be more waterproof. Whether it's as well cut and as breathable as the Gabba I don't know, as I've never tried one.

I'm having a couple of days off as I am coughing and snottering like a good un.

So I'm necking the parecetamol and fruit to try and beat it before this weekends CX race.

That said, I can't face the traffic tomorrow so I may wrap up and ride without trying to get PRs all the way there.

IF you ride with any gusto you'll be soaked with sweat riding a gabba anyway. It doesn't breathe.

Interesting, cheers. I'll make sure to check it out.

I'm not quick by any means but tend to work up a sweat.

Overall, it seems to get very good reviews so might try it and see how I get on.

Eventful ride home today.

Nearly collected a jogger who stepped into the road without looking right in front of me. She screamed when I swerved past her!

New lights were great and must be bright. Had a chavvy lass shout, "You ****, what if I had ****ING epilepsy!" I was just riding along minding my own business, so politely questioned her parentage and carried on my way!

Were they driving? If so, they wouldn't suffer from epilepsy.

If they were a passer by..... Meh

I'm sure I've read that the frequency of the strobe needed to bring on an epileptic fit is far quicker than the typical bike light.

Just a gobby teenage chavette at a bus stop. Made me laugh at the randomness of it as much as anything. ☺

Fell off this morning.

Brain said "ooh, look they have cleaned off the leaves on the path. Oh, that's a bit quicker now. Ooh, the wheels are losing a bit of grip, oops, ouch, that hurt"

Used my face as a brake, hand also, think it is bruised. Helmet worked in one way (kept mt eyes out of the ground) but not stopping me falling!

I'm on my Brompton and it looks OK, cycled the last half mile to work OK.

I'm already in trouble with the wife (went on an 18 mile ride on Tuesday morning after dropping my car in for warranty work) so I will keep this one quiet!

I feel your pain mate (not telling the wife) watch out for any bruises & aches in the morning, I had a similar off a few weeks back

At least when its slippery it lubricates the ground so less road rash (well sometimes)
