I can't believe they even bothered! Great giggle to see though! The guys with the deep rims looked like they could have flown their bikes like kites!!!

This morning was a lovely ride in.

Makes up for the soaking wet yesterday morning and the soaking wet against high - very high - winds yesterday going home!

According to the forecast it was 40mph winds when I set off home last night. Cycling in to it was hard work, when I turned at had it as a sidewind it horrible, but when I got to the point it was swirling round buildings and hitting me from odd directions it was bloody dangerous.

Still it could have been worse

Was st, cold and windy, odd as I dont normally feel the cold, plus I overslept by an hour!!

Going to finally have to repent that my fixie/singlespeed is too bigger geared, since fitting 28c tyres steep hills are too sluggish on fresh legs

Cutting out wheat from my diet for 6 weeks to see if it cures blisters/eczema will be interesting to see how the drop in carbs will affect cycling ( I eat alot of carbs!)

Nice ride in this monring. Felt good pushing myself a bit for the first time in months.

Last night riding home wasn't so good though. Battery for my bright front light failed and my spare was at home on charge. Had to ride home with my flashing 'be seen on lit urban roads' light. So the cars could see me but I couldn't see where I was going! For once I was thankful for heavy traffic.

Thanks for your recommendations on lights, I've ignored them all - CRC had a Lezyne Mega Drive down from £200 to £90 so I couldn't resist. The point about contingency is a good one though so I've bought a Knog Blinder rear light too. Fingers crossed I can start riding this week...

I rode in on Monday with a massive tail wind, I was hoping to smash a couple of PR's, but the promenade had been covered in sand dunes.

There's no way I was going back that way in the evening, this will give you an idea of how windy it was -

Ok, so my bike is ordered (an orro terra) I'm looking forward to being on a road bike for the first time. I've always been a mountain bike person.

I will have to find a longer route to work to get the most out of it, my drive in is 5 mins with traffic so should be about the same on the bike.

Beautiful ride in today, you can actually smell that spring is on the way! cool

I've got the Wiggle Southern Rough Ride coming up shortly, need to get some miles under my belt.
I struggled last year and bailed out at the first split as the weather was just horrendous, hoping to do better this year. thumbup

Lovely ride this morning, although pitch black and VERY icy and cold when I left. Garmin had a low of - 5.6 although I suspect it was nearer -3.

Clear blue skies and sunshine by the time I got to work.

Legs felt pretty tired after what has been a very tough last 2 weeks of cycling.

I feel like this too. It's been very hard the last 2 weeks. My ride to work is extremely exposed for 11 miles and I head south/west, so the wind direction is head/side all the time. The return journey is better, but I'm usually getting a strong side wind.

Legs tired today because of a combo of long hours/frequent travel and minimal cycling. Managed my once-a-week commute on the bike yesterday.

Happy to be in home office today.

First commute of the year on the bike today and first time on the bike since 30th September.

Weather pretty cold and fresh at the start.

Funny - been looking forward to this ride for days and had planned it carefully - was showing 12.3 miles on Mapometer, but Mapmyride is saying 12.95 miles. No idea where that extra 0.65miles came from.

Picked a new route but not ideal - looked like a good track on Google Maps but was pretty muddy given recent rain - probably give it a miss until summer. Kona Dew Drop lapped it up generally but didn't make things easier!

Best bit - Actually getting out! Plus, I saw a security guard talking to a man in a bush on Tesco car park.

Worse bit - Less than 0.5 miles to go and I clearly wasn't going fast enough for someone in a Ford Ranger pickup to the point that he felt the need to beep his horn.

To add - feel a lot better for riding in this morning.

Apart from this obligatory procrastination, I've not found myself on LinkedIn or any other time-wasting websites like normal!
