I commute from inner London and into Kent and the amount of bad driving used to shock me but now I just take it in my stride. I've got an action cam on the bars but I don't shout out the number plates in a high pitched voice.

I really need to get a better one as I've had mine for over two years and it's not as good as my cars dashcam in low light.
Stuff like this (taken from my last commute on Monday) is typical and is the reason to have a bike cam.

Got the train in today and yesterday I drove, feel really lethargic right now having not ridden in.

That's four days this week, bit chilly in the fog this morning.

I'll have a break over the weekend, then hopefully everyday from now until end of summer.

Came off on a roundabout today, it was so foggy this morning that I should have treated it as if it was raining, its next to a petrol station and thus always coated in diesel.
On the upside as the surface was so slippery I just slid and so didn't get too bad a rash.

(Video cuts out when I hit the deck but I also slid quite a bit before stopping).

Got back on and was doing 40mph within a minute of hitting the floor but now I'm sitting in the office I realise my hip is really sore.

It was foggy in Coventry this morning too, so I had to dig the lights out.

It was also the first commute I've had with no cars parked in the cycle lane!

In my entire time cycling I had my two closest shaves within a mile of each other on my way home today. First while cycling through a housing estate some stupid bint decided to cross from one side street to the opposite. Not so much as a glance to the right. Then a mile down the road another stupid woman decided she absolutely HAD. To squeeze past me into a corner as I was starting my turn in. Close enough that I could have touched it without fully straightening my arm. She was sat I traffic (which is always there) 300m down the road. I resisted the temptation to make a point.

I cycled into work Thursday and felt alright, but as the day wore on I became quite tired and just felt like that "not quite right, but not sure if you're imagining it" type feeling.....Friday woke up with a sore throat....bugger.

Had planned on doing a tough session today and 3-4 hours out tomorrow (the weather is lovely!) but alas, woke up this morning and throat was a little more sore...it's just not worth pushing hard when you're ill as it only delays your recovery so I'm going to keep cycling but relatively gently until I'm feeling better. Hope you are feeling better now, if you aren't already.

Was a joy this morning, dry, Not too cold, no wind, 6 degrees, 4 mates in the commuter club.

Set off in two minute intervals, as two of the lads where doing 20 minutes @ sweetspot. I sucked wheel for half of the journey, and helped my other friend hit his target of getting to work in an hour.

Back in the 'spin' of things, legs were like treacle for a day or two, I was supposed to be doing a Wiggle ride on Sunday, thank god I had the sense to drop out as I doubt I would have made it very far.

How's your man flu going, I find a topless massage and chocolate alleviate the agony wink

Beautiful ride to work again this morning, was hoping to do a few extra miles but got up late.

No wind, hard tyres, 37:17. And based on the steam from the vent across the road, I might even have a small tailwind home. Excellent. smile

Feeling a bit better thanks, I'm hoping to be ok for the end of the week to get back to cycling properly next week, fingers crossed!

Had a hospital appointment at 09:00 this morning, decided trying to park the car was way too stressful. Had a lovely ride instead watching everyone fighting over parking spaces biggrin

Did every day this week. First time for five days straight since last September. Legs didn't like me much this morning.

On the plus side, now at 14.5% of commuting mileage target for the year and it's only March. Excellent.
