Forgot my underpants this morning so I am spending the day 'commando'.
LOL! 3rd rule of cycle commuting: thoust always has spare undies, socks and shirt at work.

Anyway, enjoy and remember to do your zip up.
Carefully! wink

The new off road route didn't quite go according to plan this morning. Lovely weather, perfect conditions, but the ground was so wet after the winter and heavy rain recently, that a lot of the off road sections were seriously boggy! A couple of times I just had to stop and get off as the bike wouldn’t move. Ended up with pretty wet and muddy shoes and legs! Still, the rest of it was fun, and it did mean that I could give the bike a good clean up and an oil during my lunch break. Think I’ll miss the really boggy bit on my way home!

Another frosty cold one here this morning, but did get a lovely close look at a bath owl. Also found a slightly different route with less potholed and even less traffic, 19 miles and all I saw was three cars and a van, this morning, love rural Lincolnshire commuting.

Thia time of year is quite difficult regarding clothing isn't it.....I plan on doing a long ride tomorrow, around 60-70 miles.....forecast is around 2-3degrees for when I'll be leaving home, but 13-14 by the time I get back....

grin and bear the cold and warm up....or start warm and potentially overheat. hehe I always feel the cold a lot due to being very light (sub 54kgs/5ft5) so I'm usually seen wearing an extra layer than everyone else unless it's summer. I'm thinking base layer, summer jersey plus packable gilet and arm warmers.

today was gorgeous though. Roll on summer cool

No base layer for me in these conditions, too much hassle to take off and much too warm by the end of the ride. Arm warmers, cap, gilet and packable jacket at the start, can be mixed and matched as needs be during the ride with anything not worn being easily stowed in a pocket.

This morning was freezing! As all my neighbours were scraping ice from their windscreens, I was heading out in shorts! I wear mountain bike loose padded cycling shorts, a breathable sports T shirt and a soft shell jacket over the top. My cycling gloves are fingerless and my hands really felt the cold this morning. My fingers were stinging throughout the entire ride. I started off freezing cold all over, but warmed up by mile 2. Should be a fair bit warmer for the ride home!

I agree with the above, I wore fingerless gloves for the first time and it was bloody freezing, ok after a few miles though

Also dug out the Summer bike for the first time , thought it would be easier than my usual Steel beast, errr 3 degrees, 4 hours sleep and a hangover put a stop to that

At the mo I'm still wearing longs, long sleeve base, long sleeve jersey and a gillet, full finger glvoes and a cotton cap first thing, its been 0-3c when I'm setting off at 0630 the last week or so.

Ditch the gilet and base layer in the backpack for the return journey.

Drove to work yesterday, car showed -1c, countless people in shorts!

Rolled into work with another puncture this morning. Luckily it was slow enough to make the last mile. These Schwalbe Sammy Slick tyres have really got to go.

This mornings ride in well and truly put the sts up me. Sitting at a red traffic light in an ASL box in a turn right only lane. The inside lane is straight on or turn left. There are no cars directly behind me, but a long queue in the inside lane. I can hear a car approaching from behind and it's going quite fast, it doesn't appear to be slowing down, st it's definitely not slowing down, fk I'm about to be hit by a car, the taxi to my left is very helpfully stopped in the ASL box so I can't dive left. Turn round to look to the rear to find it's a police car with its lights on but no siren travelling on the wrong side of the road at speed and overtaking me through the red light. And breathe. The above took place over about 2 seconds, so little time to do anything, but for about a second of it I did think I was about to become airborne at speed.

Saturday: knowing the chain has stretched, change it. Look closely at the cassette, seems fine, no obvious wear.
Today: Set of from home, everything OK to the end of the road. Apply a bit more pressure to get moving up a slight hill... huge amounts of chain slip.
Try different gears.
Only one that doesn't have chain slip is the one I set out in (God knows why).
Use that gear and choice of big or little chain ring to get to work. 10 miles on effectively a single speed. Great fun.
New cassette bought and fitted by LBS over lunch.

Place your bets on what the ride home is like - just hoping it was the cassette and not anything else.

Pleasant Spring commute this morning. Near enough the first 45km of stage 3 of the tour de Yorkshire.

Saw numerous baby rabbits, two hares and a barn owl.

Biked 15 miles with missus to Starbucks, coffee, then 5 miles to work on own, while she does a loop and goes home.

Nice way to start day.
