I arrive at work feeling energetic, and I leave in the evening with a nice ride to take away the stress of the day
Totally agree.1Addicted said:
but, what does annoy me is the number of cyclists around here who think it's acceptable to run red lights at pedestrian crossings. .....the more I cycle the more I understand why some people just want to mow you down, good cyclist or not.
The kn*bs on bikes that do this just give the rest of us a bad name and fuel the hate and resentment of the equivalent kn*bs in cars who then get all aggressive and dangerous. And so it goes on....

Why is it so bloody cold? Frosty this morning.... And we're in maybe very soon!
Green fingered types will tell you that there's a risk of frost until early May, Bert the Farmer on Hamble Lane says risk of frost until the last of the white Hawthorn blossom is gone.Where we are by Southampton water its not so bad, but my mum's in Titchfield village and its much cooler there.

-1.2 on the CS7 this morning , still refusing to wear leggings .
Bloody cold
I hope it warms up again soon because I holed the knee on my bib-tights this morning in a cleat fail low speed tumble. Way before I got to CS7 though.Bloody cold
Can't understand not wanting to wear leg warmers etc.????
This morning I felt comfortable all the way (over 2 hrs) but I was wearing long finger gloves, a buff pulled up over my ears, neoprene overshoes, bib-tights, a decent long sleeve base layer and a 'soft-shell'.

After missing rain for weeks everytime I go near the fecking saddle , or actually been on the bike for exactly 2 minutes bloody hail then torrential rain, as soon as I get to my house, blazing sunshine......
I just got on the DLR in blazing sunshine and got out at Monument to find the same but with loads of standing water. Seems like I missed the biblical downpour in the middle. Was a pleasant sunny ride in both directions, headwind home, which was good as a I was overdressed. Winter boots can now hopefully be put away.
Wildlife highlights included a barn owl and a sparrow hawk, plenty of fresh little ducklings in the fenland drains, and the swan is still sitting on her nest, so probably another three weeks before hatching.

do peeps use an app to track wind direction ?
I try and ignore it so as not to have an excuse to get the train, but the bbc weather app shows wind speed and vague direction in the default view.Looks sunny and a slight tail wind for me in the morning if the trespassers on the line at Victoria and evening boozes don't mean I'm home to late/incapable to give tomorrow morning a go. Tempted because I have a new (to me) bike but would mean fitting lights, pump, pedals etc. at 5:30 tomorrow.
