Awesome ride home today. After a really hard 3 weeks of cycling I was going to have a recovery week.... But my legs didn't feel too bad, it was dry, and I had a net tailwind so did some extra miles.

Just over 28 miles with 2100ft of climb, so not a flat route, and a 19mph average biggrin

Love the warmer weather. Around 20 degrees is absolutely perfect for me, though yesterday was warmer it was still an extremely pleasant 68 miles!

I got rained on, but it wasn't cold so actually a good ride. Very late to work because my riding partner trying it out for Bike to Work Day was late, I had a puncture and the rain seems to send the car drivers mad.

Sighting of a PH jersey (sans rider) drying over a bike stand near the office.

Rained, but was not cold. Short sleeve top, arm warmers, Gilet and 3/4 lengths were enough. No wind as well which was nice.

20 miles at 18.4mph. Legs feeling tired after what's been a really intense last few days in particular.

Ride home yesterday was mega - almost broke the 35 minute mark when it's usually around 40. Tailwind may have helped...

Rode in this morning and missed the rain, may well give it a miss this evening if the weather is as bad as the forecast.

I've put myself in the "knob" thread today. rolleyes

Here's why. wink

Yesterday on my way to work I reached a set of traffic lights on the outskirts of town. Rather than filer past a line of traffic I thought I'd be nice and wait behind a BMW hp-spec' three series.
As I'm not doing my cycle proficiency I kept the bike upright with my feet on the pedals. A few seconds later the lights changed to green and traffic started to flow until Mr HP-whip decided to brake test me twice and laugh as he/she/it drove off.

rolleyes

I filtered past him/her/it and two others at the next choke point, let the first two back past before signaling and pulling out into the middle of the road so I could turn right further up. I didn't retaliate in kind so far as brake testing goes but Mr HP-whip obviously thought I might as he/she/it backed right off.

I'm often reminded of the "Dicks, pussies and aholes" speech from Team America World Police. Mr HP-whip if you're a member of this very fine forum; don't be a brake testing ahole. wink

I've said this before, but I think you need to chill a bit, you seem to have a lot of issues on the bike

I was in a good mood, didn't take it too personally and just filtered ahead. Even marked time with traffic so Mr HP-whip nor anyone else was held up.

I think I've mellowed quite a bit. hehe

Cycled in. Got drenched. Walked to client. Got drenched. Walked back from client. Got drenched.

Still far fewer summer wobblers on the road.

Third ride in in three days for the fist time this year (shocking).

Was amazed how good my legs felt on the way in. Then realised I had a tail wind.

Oh well. Good excuse to stop for a pint on the way home.

That's why I leave my locks at work. Less to carry and no way of locking my back outside the pub/Chinese/fish and chip shop. wink

I took my bag of dirty washing home last night as I was driving only to find out this morning that my assumption regarding the clean underwear inventory in my hold-all was a little optimistic.

Yes, for the second time this year, I am commando.

Great ride in today with a few segment pbs, got a top 15 on a strava segment which isn't bad for me, over 5000 different riders have done that segment smile

Am loving the warmer weather, makes such a difference to enjoyment doesn't it!
