Was late for my conference call this morning, so cycled in at full speed, got wet from the rain, but wetter from the sweat, just about made it to the conference call, only to find in had been cancelled.

Moist this morning, but not entirely unpleasant.

In further prep for the coming winter, 2x Planet X 3/4 Length Bibs and 2x Planet X Bibs for £52 have been ordered. (Links on the bike purchases thread.)

I work from home and have a brand new bike sitting waiting on me in my hallway that I was planning on getting on at 5pm. It's pissing with rain but I'm desperate to get out on it.

Then my PM sprung a two hour conference call on me! On a Friday Night!!!! furious

Almost wimped out of taking the long way home, but applied some rule 5, which worked well as halfway round my loop the rain stopped.

I'm a UK 9 1/2, my Northwave's are an 11 (45). They have plenty of support, I bought them large so I could also wear my Sealskin socks underneath. No problems with them moving about.
Trigger: Pulled.

Just ordered some myself, ordered a size up so they can be worn with my thick socks. I'm hoping they aren't too big that my overshoes won't fit over them!
Got these through today, have yours arrived yet? They're a tad on the big side but if I wear my THICK winter socks they seem fine so that'd probably ideal. I'm guessing these are Windproof as well as waterproof? Begs the question whether you'd need overshoes, unless it's really cold out!

I know some road cyclists like a fight with motorists, but boxing footwear is a step too far.

I wear normal socks down to about freezing for one hour rides.

Another big Wednesday ride for me this morning. Unbearably hot even at 4:30am. More hills and more speed than previous weeks.

Coffee, Coconut macaroon and a slice of pizza that I carried in my jersey pocket all morning...

There's space to wiggle my toes with some very woolly winter socks. I'm going to make a decision in the next couple of nights, I might try and find some 47s though.

I can't see me needing overshoes with them, they were pretty toasty.

I'm undecided whether to send them back for a smaller size....But with thick socks they're just about OK. I'll try them on again later. They aren't exactly massive, but with normal socks they're definitely a size too big....but with my really thick socks they're about right. I do suffer from very cold feet in the winter, so I suspect I'll end up keeping this size. My normal shoes with overshoes when it's chilly, or these with thick socks for when it's ruddy horrible.

It does feel like we've had a proper summer this year... I quite like the heat when cycling, but it can get a bit much without air flowing over me at 15 - 25 mph, depending on wind direction.

Did a bit extra on the way home tonight. Might do a bit tomorrow as well as the wife and kids are away.

Lost three days this week due to the Junk Giant falling to bits, collected it in the full heat of the afternoon yesterday.

Rode in this morning, that was a bit sweaty!

Quite misty this morning.

Annoyingly my eldest son woke the house early, so I bailed and did a 28 mile commute instead of the normal 9. I need to wait til tonight to upload from my Garmin, but definitely >20mph average speed, so very pleased with the ride.

I also lost my most prized of all my KOMs this morning, but a quick look at the whole ride the guy did suggests he averaged 58mph up a Cat 4 on the A380 dual carriageway. So I flagged it!
