I've tried Strava on a few android devices. Including an S6edge and an LG G4. It crashes a lot. It seems to be very memory hungry.

Would it be more reliable on an iPhone? My main phone is a Windows Phone and I'm coming round to the though that I'm going to have to give up on the platform, much as I love it. So I now need to decide between Google and Apple.

PURELY on the basis of Strava which is more solid? I don't want to start a phone war here and as I've built phones and spent most of my life reviewing them I think that I can make my own mind up on the other stuff.
I'm using it on an iPhone and it's been fine the handful of times I've used it.

It's a work phone and is a couple of years old - I think it's maybe a 5C.
Hmmm.....yesterday it told me that I hit 42.5 mph at one point a few hundred yards into my return journey. Which is not possible (it's a MTB and is geared for 30 ish max). I think it's where I nipped through a loading bay at the back of Liverpool St station. It seems to go a bit mental if if loses GPS because of tall building or whatever.

It behaved fine for the rest of the trip.

Chiltern Railways did me the honour of only going as far as West Ruislisp this morning instead of Marylebone.

As I had my Brompton, I figured I may as well cycle the rest of the way in. 17.4 miles in total (I forgot to switch it on at the start).

I was susrprised at how much traffic there was, and how much difference it made to my average speed. I normally average about 15.5-16.5 on my normal commute, but this time it was under 13mph. (Mind you, it was still quicker than the cars and busses.)

I seem to have busted the struggle to get fit enough to cycle to work everyday. Its getting easier every week.
Same here! Im really enjoying it! I get to see the sun rise over the heath and got a couple of hours of exercise a day - plus I save my train fare.

I bought bib tights the other day and think I've finally worked out the correct temperature/clothing strategy - tights, merino wool long sleeved base layer and a running jacket. Then when it's warmed up in the evening, just put the jacket in my bag. My legs get warm, but having crap knees, I'm ok with that - I can regulate my temperature with my top half.

2,300 commuting miles this year. Winter closing in, I'm a total wuss, so back on the train soon.

Having a week on holiday made this morning a struggle...

I'm getting increasingly suspicious of this continuing good weather. Yes, it's cold in the mornings, but it is altogether too pleasant. When it breaks it may break me...

Just can't manage to ride 4 times a week. I "only" work 4x10 hour shifts, but I'm on my feet for all of that, and it's just too much for the muscles and joints.
Getting much fitter using a fat bike, and the added grip and "road presence" almost makes the commute fun.

I will not be commuting for a good few weeks now after a fairly spectacular collarbone breaking crash on the velodrome last Sunday night.

Sadly, no video of the crash. See you all back on this thread in 6-8 weeks.

Made 2000 miles this year as I arrived at work!

Sadly I also seem to have developed "see through" capability - two vehicles couldn't see me on the way in!

First proper cold day of the year, was 6 degrees as I left

Nice ride in , dragged out the winter steel bike for the first time in months which now has 32c tyres on, it felt like driving a steam engine, was really quick on the gravel bits though

Today was the first day in my thrid week of cycing everyday, it just keeps getting easier, bit chilly this morning, but lovely ride home.

Clear sky tonight, so I'll be watching out for penguins tomorrow.

First ride in this morning after a dose of man flu. 6c as I left home, but pretty toasty once I was half way in! Definitely getting towards woolly hat weather!

5 degrees - sunny, dry and breeze-free.

Tightening and greasing my headset has made a world of difference - all the clonking and chattering under braking has gone.

Happy days.

Had a slight tail wind on the way home and got the fastest run yet since starting to use Strava.
