Not so worried about the leaves on my normal route it's the acorns & horse chestnuts. They're lethal
Stop eating them!

First commute today on a fixie.
The freewheel on my Paddy Wagon is making an annoying noise so I decided to flip the wheel and try running it fixed. It was actually easier than I was expecting and I didn't kill myself so not at all bad biggrin
I do need to stick a bigger chainring on though as the current 42t isn't great with a bit of a tailwind!

Lighting...

I've gone a bit ott this year on the commuter...

3 lights on the back
flashing valve caps (although I've just broken them frown )
clip on reflective sleeve things for the spokes
3 lights for the front including the 'night sun' which I'll use in deepest darkest winter, aimed at the floor 3m ahead. Pisses me off when other riders have a bright one pointed straight at you!
reflective tape stuff on the frame

Although some dozy bint still pulled out on the last week.

Constantly riding in for the last few months, loving it. Fall out of bed, roll to work, shower, double banana breakfast as the desk. boom.

Not just shorts for me - I put the Gore shell away and just has a short sleeved shirt on this morning.

Managed to do the 9.5 miles in a PB of just under 41 minutes, averaging 14.4 mph.

porridge made with almond milk, honey & a banana

I did every day for 5 weeks, bar one, today is the beginning of week 6.

Was cooler this morning, but still a glorious ride.

All going so well this morning until some chap in a pick-up heading the opposite way steered towards me as I was over taking traffic on the off-side (within the centre line markings). Whats wrong with some people?!

I'm in shorts all year round! and I'm not even a geordie hehe

Although for those 5-7 days a year where it's properly bitterly cold and I roll down mega-hill to work I do get the balaclava out biggrin

Not worn through - it has burst though! It is a brompton wheel so nothing too expensive (except the wheel build!)

I saw the forecast last night and so went from Monday's 1 layer to 4 for my 4 mile round trip to the gym.

It's just not far enough to warm up properly.

The forecast here was a joke. The weather boffins got it so wrong. 5 degree forecast - it was easily 0 degrees in the countryside, and I think it was perhaps below freezing. My hands were claws when I arrived at work. Never known anything like it! I had to wiggle my hands over the last few miles as they were going completely numb. I have thick gloves, but the forecast indicated I wouldn't need them frown
