The daily "I cycled to work" thread

First commute today on a fixie.
The freewheel on my Paddy Wagon is making an annoying noise so I decided to flip the wheel and try running it fixed. It was actually easier than I was expecting and I didn't kill myself so not at all bad
I do need to stick a bigger chainring on though as the current 42t isn't great with a bit of a tailwind!

Lighting...
I've gone a bit ott this year on the commuter...
3 lights on the back
flashing valve caps (although I've just broken them frown )
clip on reflective sleeve things for the spokes
3 lights for the front including the 'night sun' which I'll use in deepest darkest winter, aimed at the floor 3m ahead. Pisses me off when other riders have a bright one pointed straight at you!
reflective tape stuff on the frame
Although some dozy bint still pulled out on the last week.
Constantly riding in for the last few months, loving it. Fall out of bed, roll to work, shower, double banana breakfast as the desk. boom.

The forecast here was a joke. The weather boffins got it so wrong. 5 degree forecast - it was easily 0 degrees in the countryside, and I think it was perhaps below freezing. My hands were claws when I arrived at work. Never known anything like it! I had to wiggle my hands over the last few miles as they were going completely numb. I have thick gloves, but the forecast indicated I wouldn't need them
