Can't make it out in your pic, have you worn through the braking surface?
Not worn through - it has burst though! It is a brompton wheel so nothing too expensive (except the wheel build!)Huntsman said:
There I was at 7.30 this morning cycling into work, what did I see? A huddle of penguins shivering away.
Indeed. Ruddy cold this morning, horrendous journey for me as my finger tips started to freeze after 2 miles into a 13mile journey.I'm new to this commuting malarkey, still gotta lot to learn!
Bit of rain this morning and cool for a change. That's fine. What was more challenging was the nicely compressed, slick and damp leaves helpfully spread on all the corners I take on my commute (cobbled roads btw). The steel-surfaced bridge I have to cross was also rather dramatic.......

The Mrs is getting a bit narked how obsessed I am getting
How far is your commute? I have only got below the 50 minutes on a few occasions but my ride is 27km. Takes good legs, a favourable wind direction and not too much traffic. 45 minutes is the long term goal! The Mrs is getting a bit narked how obsessed I am getting
Like many it seems!
VERY cold hands this morning at 6am! After 12 miles they started to heat up though
In other news.
Another dick with no lights unable to stop at lights. Well he did but then started creeping forward. Passed him 30secodns after the lights changed. Was really worth it!
A dick on a Electric bike. Who decided to pace me We were passed by a pickup who then chucked his indicator on and carved left. (Was close, but you could see it happening. I let off/braked as I'd seen the danger. eBike moron starts to go up the inside of it. Cue me telling him "don't fking go up there he's fking turning! Pay fking attention!"
It's a service I provide

Oh it's only a little commute 19.5KM each way. 500ft of climbing each way. I'm very new to it and unsure what I can get my time down to. As a complete amateur I have given myself a target of 45 mins as it takes 35 minutes in the car. I guess I should be aiming for 40mins that's a 18.4mph average.
47:31 today. Still getting used to the clock change and feeling a bit sluggish. When I have cycled home I will have done 118km this week
It's finally cool enough for me to get back on my bike.
The Cateye Solar light shining into my water bottle worked brilliantly. I would look over my shoulder and the whole road was illuminated (lowest setting as well).
Remember those laser lights from a few years ago. It was like that but the batteries can handle it for more than a few seconds.
So I haven't cycled in since August due to the heat and I haven't worn my face mask since April due to the heat but as I was the outskirts of town a car pulled along side me and the operator shouted...
Woooo-ha-ha-ha-ha-haaaaaaaa!

Good morning, my name is Louiebaby and it's been 5 weeks since my last cycling commute...
Back on the bike this morning after my collarbone / velodrome interface and related broken bone, and whilst it felt a bit "wrong" when I got out of the saddle on a hill, it was otherwise just fine.
My time was nothing startling, but also not too slow, possibly aided by a slight cross-tail wind. I decided not to race a roadie up the last hill near work, which turned out to be a good decision as the front quick release was pretty loose when I rolled into the car park.
The worst bit:
I seem to have completely missed "arm-warmer season" and am straight into a proper jacket. This makes me a little grumpy, but I'm sooooo glad to be back riding again.

Add man hole covers to that too.I nipped out to overtake someone on Friday and as I did went over a wet man hole, both wheels jinked out and I unclipped my left foot rather dramatically to counter balance. He must have thought I was a right dick!
