Doing the commute tomorrow.

At the moment looks like I'll get pretty wet on the way back.

Had a great cycle in this morning - loved the temperature.

Felt like I was was pretty close to a PB but then forgot to turn Strava off when I got in. Doh.

Still, the chance of rain later is far less.

Shouldn't be a problem, you can truncate a saved ride once it's in strava.

Bloody bds!!

Today was the morning to cut the hedges on my normal route to work. The cutting technique appears to be more smash than cut and results in debris all over the road. Not good because the hedges are hawthorn. The entire width of the road was covered so no surprise that I picked up a puncture.

In what universe is it acceptable to cover the entire road surface in hedge cuttings?

bds!!

I decided that commuting on the Dixie was a good idea today.
4am cycling into 25mph+ gusting headwinds wasn't th most enjoyable experience, mind you the final run into work with said gusts as a tailwind was a bit interesting once my legs decided they couldn't spin any faster!

New world record for me today!

13 miles on my MTB in 48mins knocking 3mins of the previous WR. Every light was green, level crossing barriers came up as I approached, it really was close to perfect.

Bloody cold on the way in again. Hoping I've got enough light left after finishing this afternoon to get a decent detour on the way home.

Yesterday they said it would be mild in south west.....it was but the ice cold wind cuts through you!!

Last year I found the wind bad, this year not so bad until this week, once I get out my village on the marlborough downs, blliimmmey it cut through both my windproof layers!!

Went nuclear today and put my winter jacket I only wear @ 0 degrees, which was great except on the one big hill I was sweating my arse off and then the wind cut through again and turned the sweat into cold water!!

Normally I just knuckle down but the limp wristed man i'm suffering flu made progress hard work!

hehe

I don't know about you, but the wind has been good for a couple of months (say <7 mph). The summer was very windy, but it has got better. Yesterday was the first in a LONG time for me that was >10mph.

Cheers Ben, I have slicks on, and that has made a huge difference.

Wind has been such a factor though. My route in is gradually up hill with a couple of big hills near the end, thus my route to work is normally 5mins slower (46min home, 52 to work). This week its flipped, 51 home, 48 to work.

Wind:- Gives with one hand, takes with the other!

I wasn't working today, but did cycle along my commute route for a bit and possibly confused the traffic wardens. They were ticketing the cars parking in the cycle lane and I don't think they often get people stopping to thank them for doing a good job!
