Rode in yesterday with a very disappointing effort/speed ration - discovered on train it was due to a sticking rear wheel. With wheel duly free up, my overall time has droped by 90 seconds over half an hour....but my segment times are predominantly the same or a little worse....odd

It was a fantastic ride into central London this morning - cool, crisp, blue sky and it might as well have been Saturday morning, so sparse was the traffic! Clearly many, many people are taking time off ahead of the bank holiday.

I've done something similar in the car before, thinking that the fuel economy was poor on a trip only then realising I'd driven 100miles in 4th rather than 6th madeek

Blowy and cold.

Does a jam donut at lunch count?

Got a mild case of the bonks climbing up from Barnes to Putney Heath (I make it sound like an Hors Cat mountain) so stopped at Wimbledon for a muffin. While stopping I didn't see a bump and fell off onto my unclipped side. Right in front of a small group of posh MILFs who were very concerned for my well being.

Anyway - breakfast was a full fry up at Gerry's Cafe in Ludgate Hill. Before that I did 20 km and afterwards 16 km to work. Maybe I shouldn't have skipped lunch.....

Nope, a flat gravel track into Southampton, and on the same track on the way out.

I only asked as I am faster downhill on my CX bike due to a mixture of the weight and the added confidence of discs and comfy tyres biggrin

Due to the gloom of impending rain and the low temperatures, I broke out the Altura Night Vision Evo for the first time since March. Glad of it in the wind, and not at all sweaty. Great jacket.

Giant bacon roll on the way. Huge.

No MILF / tumble incidents this morning. Passed 500km for the month, so I'm going to reward myself with a bacon sarnie.
