My plan to ride all week failed spectacularly.
Ill family member meant no sleep until nearly midnight.
I'll ride in tomorrow though, honest!

I've started off on four days a week commute - 30 miles round trip x 5 is too much from pretty much nothing. Knocked a minute off my best time on the way home tonight. Will start doing it five days a week in a couple of weeks.

New bike arrives on Saturday!

Just spoken to my dad about bikes and he's letting me use his old Claud Butler Dalesman tourer circa 1990 this winter! It will need new tyres and a saddle but should make for a different commuting experience! Picking it up on Saturday. Retro heaven approaching!

Great run in this morning.

Makes it 16 bike commutes in September in 22 days and 320 miles for the month - a record for me.

I also found a solution to my tired legs. Go a bit slower. It works.

Is "frothy conker paste" a euphemism?

I was wondering that, too.

(but I couldn't remember how to spell "euphemism" - it's so much easier when you can copy/paste wink )

Got bloody drenched last night (I've have been just as dry riding in the canal rather than to the side of it), the day before I pick up a new bike friendly waterproof.

Outside the Opera Society is a horse chestnut, the conkers have fallen and been mashed up by tyres, then it rained last night and..hey presto!

Frothy conker paste.

Bailed out of riding today due to the rain as I hadn't fitted the mud guards and there is nothing worse than a soggy arse crack for the way home. Fitting them this evening.

cycling to work this morning, me on the main road. Moronic audi driver in a side road stops his car 1/4 of the way out into the main road instead of stopping at the white lines. I look down the side road as I'm cycling past and make eye contact with him, so why does he stop like that? I have to move into the middle of the lane for me to pass him. The moment I do he honks his horn as if to intimidate me.
Why?

I had a school kid squirt me with juice (I hope) or something equally sticky from their water bottle as I cycled past.
I wasn't anywhere near them or going especially fast - very odd!
Got home with a sticky, wet bag and shirt.
