Came in from west of Guildford, set off about 5.30am, definitely got warmer once the sun popped out
Ah, OK. I didn't set off until around 07:15, so that would've made quite a difference!Pootling up the cyclepath celebrating having completed all the major climbs and I sensed a wheelsucker. Can't have that so wind it up.. still there.. wind it up some more.. eventually holding a steady 19mph uphill. I'm not dropping him but hes not passing either. Get to my turn off, indicate and tell him that I'm turning off... 'damn, I was enjoying that' he says.. glance over as i take my turn off to see my epic struggle had been with an 'urban mtb' type hybrid. The shame
Didn't even beat my best on that segment on strava. Me on a 16 mile ride has yet to defeat me on a 7 mile ride.

Freezing! Sat at desk still shivering - looking at puncture resistant tyres on the net
Gatorskins? I've been ok on GP4000S so far (touch wood!) but I know I'm pushing my luck now - I'll be back on gatorskins soon enough!ewenm said:
Ride in today much better along the main roads rather than the cycle path, still learning my optimum route though. Grey and dull but looked better through the yellow lenses
If you're talking about the Bath-Bristol path, I'd stick to the main road, the bike path is lethal at this time of year with the leaves. I've had two offs on the path, one on ice where both myself and the guy I was riding with did a syncronised fall and one on leaves when a dog/rat I didn't originally see and which wasn't under control shot across the path causing me to grab a handful of brake whilst on wet leaves AyBee said:

Not yet. I'm just commuting across Bath. Come January I'll be cycling (or train) Bath to Bristol everyday. I'm expecting a few crashes. donfisher said:
Anyone got any experience of Schwalbe Luganos for commuting on the puncture front? They're prefitted to my new bike and I'm wondering if they're worth swapping straight away to something like a gatorskin for the winter.
They're what came on my CAAD8. They're nothing special but do the job. Lots of little cuts in the surface, but only one puncture in six months, and that was a 5mm long shard of glass on a wet evening.Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
